ReviewThis collection, compiled by Nottingham based DJ Chris King, was very much aimed at British "Northern Soul" fans, with the overwhelming majority of the tracks on here having that driving mid/late sixties sound.
On here is a mixture of lesser known LP tracks, previously unreleased material recorded by the ladies in the Mid/Late 60s and a few well known singles (including their biggest US hit "Please Mr. Postman and their sole UK chart hit "When You're Young And In Love").
No doubt the inclusion of "Please Mr Postman" and "When You're Young And In Love" was intended to give the collection a wider appeal.
Interestingly the collection doesn't include what are arguably their two most popular tunes among the "Northern Soul" crowd ... "I'll Keep Holding On" and "Only Your Love Can Save Me" .. but as Chris King had only recently included those on the "This Is Northern Soul" compilations that were released by Debutante it isn't really a surprise.
