gregs45s SUBS 7th Feb 2017		@Janijjones.Peter,you haven't yet replied to a couple of comments i made questioning the wisdom of using case scans as the front image on CD Album world,so i'll try again (this site is still democratic isn't it?,it's not a dictatorship yet?;).You seem convinced that using case scans for the primary image is the way to go,well,again,i'd like to question that decision if i may?,so i'll list some of the possible "cons",and perhaps you'd like to reply with a list of "pros" Possible "cons" - 1/ Having a booklet behind a case,no matter how clear gives an overall lack of contrast/colour slightly altered, when compared to an "out-of-case" scan. 2/ Smaller booklet image overall. 3/ Smaller text/cat.no's not so clear 4/ What about colour tinted cases?. 5/ What about scratched/dirty cases?. 6/ Which case scan is to be used for an "International" entry,where there are two or more countries,and where the case manufacturer/construction may differ along with different front stickers/languages?. 7/ If using case scans is to become standard on the site,surely that would mean that CD Singles/VHS/DVD's/Games/Cassettes would have to be scanned in their cases as well?. 8/ And finally - if "case" images are to be accepted as the standard,then if a member were to come along with a "case" scan of an existing entry,would that mean that the case" scan would take precedence over the original members front of booklet scan,and that it could therefore be replaced,meaning that the members original scan would no longer be the primary image used to identify that entry?,because i can't see members being to happy about that one !. Personally,however,i see nothing wrong with adding a case scan along with the rest of the images,using it to show colour/manufacturing differences,along with any cases that have stickers,otherwise,surely just adding "clear/black/gray" tray to the notes surely would suffice?. I hope you realise that,at the end of the day,there is no malice intended towards you here,and this is not "personal",i'm just concerned/thinking about what's best for the site (CD Album world,as you know,is very much in it's infancy with millions of CD's potentially yet to be added),and therefore feel that this topic perhaps would benefit from further discussion/consideration.

janiejjones 6th Feb 2017		When this series was started, marketing seemed to think it a neat idea to have "talking" cat#s, at least for the UK, but as far as I found, this ranged only from CDABBEY 100 to 104, all 1997 releases. So discontinued in 1998. Nice touch for the whole series, and most of the time hidden away exactly under the CD tray's spindle lock, is that for each one a different 45 is playing on that Monarch record player (from the ones I have only the "R&B" collection has an empty turntable).
