| kab2112 SUBS 27th Jul 2018 | ReviewBlackfoot were billed as a Southern Rock band. some of the band members had played with and recorded with Lynyrd Skynyrd prior to forming Blackfoot. The first two albums were fairly average rock and the next two were much better. However when this was released in 1981 it surpassed anything done previously. Blackfoot produced what could arguably be the best album of 1981 in Marauder. It was pure rock with a bit of a southern flavour. It wasn't the poor man's Lynyrd Skynyrd. Each track is excellent with a fantastic guitar solo in "diary of a workingman" which for me is the stand out track. I know a few others who love this album and we saw Blackfoot perform a few times in the early 1980's and they gave some blistering performances, creating a fantastic atmosphere in their shows. | PCB5394 9th Apr 2014 | Saw these at the Liverpool Empire on Easter Sunday 1982 and they were fantastic. This is probably the best gig I've ever been to. The atmosphere was amazing and the place was rocking. | |
