@Lee Wrecker
Hi Lee,may i make a suggestion?.
If i were you i would just add any stock European CD's that you think were also put on sale at a regular price in Australia (i.e,not sold as a higher price import) as well,as simply European,just add to the notes something like "This exact CD was also on sale in Australia",that way,you have done nothing wrong,and if,for some strange reason,someone wants to make it International,then that's their prerogative,not yours,so no more stress wondering whether to make Aussie CD's International or not,there is no point IMHO,it serves no purpose,a note is all that's needed surely?.
As for Australian CD's,i.e,Disc/artwork made in Aus or even ones that might use The European CD,but have say the artwork printed in Aus,then enter them as Australian,after all,that's where they were intended for,don't worry if there is a European CD already on the site that might share the same Cat.No./label/barcode.
Enter the CD for where you think it was intended for,that's what i do,for goodness sake,let's get rid of the totally useless "International" once and for all ;)
Hi Leonard, I agree entirely with both of your logical suggestions on the best way to approach these problems. Is there any chance of getting something like this added to the guidelines?
The only way out of this problem is to use what's on the tin, but that isn't a good option too. There's no denying this is a European product that was exported to Australia. It's not so hard putting the Australian release date in the notes. On the other hand I'm quite in favor of having a seperate entry for Australian made cd's that have same cat# and barcode as their European counterparts..
This was released in Australia on 31st August 1992 according to PhilMH (a reliable source!). Same question international or EU release. Whatever the answer it will most likely apply to all EU Rhino / Atlantic releases. This German issue was released in 2001 and the original Cat# barcode, label combination of this CD was made in France and released in 1992. So once again I have three correct choices as to where this is from because technically is the Australian issue, it is most certainly the EU issue and it is also international if we use the evidence that it was released in Australian. Too many choices all technically correct. What to do?
Pretty sure I picked this one up for $10 at JBs Phil, oh and the copy of Pain In My Heart that I just uploaded at same the time. A very good shopping day.
Australian release on 31st August 1992. I think I must have bought my copy much later, as there is a sawcut in the spine of the back inlay, and I replaced the jewel case, so it was probably a cheapie purchase via Amazon UK/Europe.
