The reissue coincided with the concert film's first international release on DVD, accompanied by the Concert for Bangladesh Revisited with George Harrison and Friends making-of documentary.

Sales of the album and DVD continue to benefit The George Harrison Fund for UNICEF.

A further deluxe double CD set, repackaged in a hinge-box including a 36-page booklet with many previously unseen photos and new content, was also released, confusingly with the same catalogue number.
