fixbutte 9th Apr 2014		As I had all four original Velvet Undergound LPs plus the 1985 released VU album, I passed on the CD reissues. When this useful compilation came out though, I perceived it as adequate fodder for my CD player. Obviously in the wake of Lou Reed's praised New York album of the same year, it was confined to songs written by just Reed, and predictably gathered six tracks alone from the band's popular debut album, three of them sung by Nico, whereas the second album was represented only by its title track. Still it was probably the band's most accessible and gratifying collection to date, especially as it was the first one that could utilize the two best tracks from Loaded, licensed from Atlantic Records.
