OK, got it now, I think - I'll create a separate entry for my Aussie copy which doesn't have the IMCD 151 number (which should be the primary number for this UK issue, I think).
@PhilMH,Hi,i'll have another go,i'm not always the best at explaining things but this is how i've always done it.Wherever possible we try to identify where the CD was put on sale,i.e commercially available.A CD with multiple issues in different countries will quite often share the same barcode, and often the only thing that identifies which country it was released in is the Cat.No..Here for instance, the Cat.No's differ (no IMCD 151),848 092-2/IMCD151/0422848009221 that Cat.No.was on sale in UK/Europe ONLY,and 848 092-2/0411848009221 that Cat.No.was on sale in Australia ONLY,so they should be separated and each have their own entries. If however the Cat.No./label/barcode were both EXACTLY the same, both CD's would then be grouped together under an "International" heading, which is not to say they were neccesarily issued individually internationally, but rather that there were two issues worldwide that had EXACTLY the same Cat.No./label/barcode combination,as has happened in leonard's Beatles example, all CD's have EXACTLY the same Cat/label/barcode,hope that helps,Greg.
Admins/mods: Greg has sent me a PM which prompts me to ask for this clarification: Is the "International" country designation meant for:
(a) Same catalogue number and barcode combination used in different countries, and including different countries pressings (such as this one), or:
(b) Only for a single country's pressing that is distributed in several countries?
If the answer is (b), then I need to create a separate entry for the Australian pressing here.
Hi Greg, I don't necessarily disagree with you, but the guide for adding CD's says this:
"Duplicates
Generally, there is a single page for each CD product/barcode. Please search for the barcode to ensure your CD is not already on 45worlds." (Italics mine).
So, because the Australian issue has the same barcode, I added it to this entry. Maybe the admins and mods can chime in here?
I think perhaps the Australian CD should have it's own stand-alone entry as it doesn't have the secondary Island Masters Series Cat.No : IMCD 151(unless it's on the Australian artwork of course). Also i believe this entry should be changed to Europe.
