So should we change this to Australian as well? No US release to compare too but it has the same details but neither were intended to be sold in both markets. So is this another one for new separation rule or not?
I have the European / 'Made in Germany' version, the disc text layout is quite different below the producer, and the spine and booklet both have 759.... as ppint.
So we surely have at least three versions, USA with no scans, the Australian one shown here, and a European, which I or someone else may upload in the fullness of time.....
There may even be a South American release with yet another slight variation of the 12 digit barcode (10 digit cat no).
I do believe they should still be listed individually; and on day seperate country list will be available here.
Thanks.
Okay, Pomegranate and Vinyl Junkie should I send a correction to return this to a USA release and re-enter it as an Australian release? I'm quite happy to that if it is the right thing to do. What do you think?
TVJ, I agree with you. As it was manufactured and distributed in Australia, and presumably Lee bought it in Australia, it should be Aussie. I note that the mod who accepted the correction is our Italian representative. No disrespect intended but I'm sure he just accepted the request for the correction in good faith. As a very well respected mod over on 45cat regularly says, it's where it was bought new that is a guiding factor.
Lee, you surely appreciate that categorising CDs released after from 2000 onwards is a difficult task for anybody.
Well, Vinyl Junkie have the MODS come up with some proper rules or protocols to govern these issues yet? Yes, it was made in Australia for the Australian market and yes it has the same cat# and barcode of the US release that existed on this page before I added my pics. See comments above, I also have some Mars Volta releases (Made In Australia) but they may have used the same barcode in Argentina and Mexico. I can't verify this personally but do I enter them as International or Australian in light of the fact I have no proof. I'll enter them as Australian I think and the MODS can sort it out if a Mexican or Argentinian release appears. But in this case the MOD that changed this release to International must have thought it the right thing to do but some other MODS don't. We clearly haven't come very far in the last month on this issue. I'll just bang my stuff in as I see fit and try and keep my head down where this issue is concerned. It is a shame as it does detract from enjoying the site to a degree.
Uploaded cover scan for moderation and Australian Inlay and CD (same barcode and cat#) so this should be made International. I have sent a correction in also. Thanks to RPFiller for doing the initial entry.
I have an Australian copy with same cat# and barcode so this one should be made International. I'll upload pics soon and send a correction when they're in.
