| RogerFoster 11th Oct 2015 | Little was spared when it came to the packaging of this collection. The 10 CDs and the accompanying 100 page booklet (yes it is ONE HUNDRED pages long) are "housed" in a reproduction of the building in which Motown had its original studios (now the home of The Motown Museum at 2468 West Grand Boulevard in Detroit, Michigan). Remove the outer plastic-box packaging, lift off the roof of "the house" and you are confronted with an inner box containing 5 double CD cases, and a Jewel Case sized CD booklet. The booklet details when the individual tracks were released, where, when and on what chart they reached #1, and full colour pictures of the artists involved. The packaging for each pair of CDs also contains full colour photos, and as an added touch, when the CDs are detached from their cases a facsimile 7" single image depicting one of the tracks is revealed. The release was timed to coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the founding of Motown, so included with the packaging was a leaflet promoting Motown themed ringtones and T-Shirts. | |
