 What a strange beast this is, i had not come across this work until now and it's rather bizzare, part comedy musical, part serious music, part Pop, a really weird mix of genres, with, it has to be said, a couple of great ambient tracks, and, although i'm normally a fan of Peter Cook, here i just don't find it very amusing, instead, his nasal voice "grates" somewhat between the music.
Apparently, G&C took a fair while out of their normal recording schedule to create this work, very brave, it has to be said, but i wonder if the time would have not been better spent on thier "regular" type of output (which would have added more pennies to thier retirement funds;)
