1.5pp liner-notes in folded printed-paper front insert by neil kellas;
cover the four tops' history sketchily, but from their forming as the four aims 1953 in detroit, through backing motown's big name artists, hitting the charts big time under the name we know them by 1964 through the early seventies, especially as produced by, and recording songs written by, eddie holland, lamont dozier and brian holland; on into leaner hearts as regards the singles charts with the abc and casablanca labels, and he also notes four top lawrence payton's death in 1997, prior to which their line-up'd remained him, levi stubbs, abdul "duke" fakir & renaldo "obie" benson for thirty years.

ppint. 14th Oct 2015		the arithmetic of the four aims' founding in 1953, line-up remaining unchanged for thirty years prior to lawrence payton's death in 1997, looking forwards to a possible "doubtless" celebration of their half-century *and* mention of their 1981 disco hit on neil bogart's casablanca records but naught further, seems somewhat confused and suggests they both were, and weren't, written in/in time for 2003, five years prior to this cd's release; or perhaps the mid-late eighties... - maybe written then, and later slightly revised c. 2000-2 ?
