A very long edit of A Little Love was playing on the radio (Algiers Chaîne 3) as I went to bed last night. After about 20 minutes I was hooked, non-repetitive development of the backing and lovely BGVs so I asked Shazam and it showed this track. I can't find a 30-minute edit but this will give you the idea
Sorry guys, I've pretty much avoided Charly over the last couple of decades due to their misbehaviour with the Chess catalogue, so I don't have any of their catalogues from this period, or any real knowledge of where these were distributed. I'm having trouble finding a website for the German company too (there is a UK one, but this CD is not shown there). "Country of origin Germany" is a tiny bit ambiguous - does that mean just a German release, or a CD originated by the German company? I tend slightly towards the latter, and also the SPA on the label is, I believe, the Portugese performing rights society (which Charly have been showing on their releases since the 1980's), so in the absence of more definite information I would leave this as Europe.
Hi Roger, it's a Charly release which indicates UK straight up but was it also released in other other European countries is the question. I would have played safe by going for the UK but I have a terrible record on each way bets. So it looks like you've done the right thing. Phil will probably know best on this one.
More country of issues issues here ... Discogs have it as a German release and there is mention of Germany on the disc, but the insert notes by Willber Wilberforce are all written in English and I would have thought that something specifically released for the German market would have notes written in Deutsch. I would have bought it in London, but that doesn't necessarily rule out it really have been intended as a German release either.
Anyway, I've played safe and put it as a "Europe" release.
