Magic Marmalade 20th Jun 2020		(Now I look at it again... my front cover looks a little dark and dull too)



Magic Marmalade 20th Jun 2020		:) Now got a half decent back cover up, but still a little shine from light source on it... black surfaces especially reveal this it seems, and best results are when the black cover is when I'm placing it with the light behind the cover (camera pointing toward the light), as opposed to having it with the light shining on it from behind me. Got to find my Blue Peter kit of sticky tape, glue, bits of paper etc. in order to devise a proper contraption for the disc scan.



Magic Marmalade 19th Jun 2020		Got a new phone, with a decent 12mp camera, so just uploading these images as an experiment. ...Still not quite happy with my back cover shot, so will get that to acceptable standard before putting it up, and got an idea about photographing the silver disc... (don't want that thing where my ugly mug behind huge hands holding phone is reflected in the disc) ...What I have had an initial try at - with good results - is simply punching a hole in a piece of white A4 printer paper, through which my camera takes the photo - lined up properly (the hard part) the camera / hole reflection will not be visible if over the centre hole in the disc, while the only thing the rest of the reflective disc will show is the white printer paper (just like a scanner does - but without the rainbow effect!) just got stiffen the edges of the paper, and find a way to suspend phone over the disc when photographing it in a way that is square on. Looks promising though!
