@Lee Wrecker
Hi Lee
I've just had a look at the club editions on Discogs and as there is no Cat No. on the spines, the Cat No. would be taken from the Disc itself, so CDP 7 46157 2 would be correct as we don't use the in-house numbers allocated to club editions for the Cat No., i.e D144276.
So, if Jerry were to add his release it would be as follows....
Country - USA
Label - Capitol
Cat No. - CDP 7 46157 2
Barcode - (leave blank)
Date - 1985 (as this appears to be the date of the first release)
and add to the notes... "club edition" "D144276".
cheers!
Lee, I've just looked at that Discogs club edition, and it looks ok to me; Capitol appears as the label at the top of the disc, the back of the booklet, the back insert, and both spines. RCA Direct Marketing, Inc. appears correctly with company roles "manufactured for" and licensed to", neither of which affect the actual branded label of Capitol. To my knowledge, that RCA club always allocated its own catalogue numbers to their releases.
@Jerry Cunningham and gregs45s. The USA Club Edition of this CD has no barcode, was made in Japan for RCA (not Capitol) and has the club edition specific cat# D144276 on the back tray as well as on the CD. So definitely a different entry needed for that one but discwrongs have made an unholy mess of their entry of it so don't copy that. What I can't figure out is whether the club editions label is Capitol or RCA. My feeling would be RCA so you can bet your bottom dollar it's Capitol. Some sloppy blanking out of names and numbers on the club edition artwork leaves traces of the original USA Capitol release but adds that it's made for RCA and gives it a new cat#. Help!
Now the regular USA CD release is identical across the board (label, cat#, barcode etc.) to the EU release and even uses the UK disk on this entry packaged with a USA printed inlay and booklet. So this is international I'm afraid.
@Jerry Cunningham
Hi, yes, It's only if the label/Cat No./barcode matches the existing entry EXACTLY, that more scans can be added to an existing page, if there is any difference, however small, i.e spacing between Cat No./dashes. extra labels, different or no barcode, it's a separate release so it would need a new entry to be created if the one you have is not already on the system already.
cheers
Greg.
I have a few questions here - mine is definitely made in USA, but it's a club edition. No barcode, writing on the disc is in black, not in red, everything else looks the same. Where do I post the scans, is it a separate issue?
I'm not sure that this is the USA release. The one shown over on discogs has made in USA on the back cover. The CD images here are of EU and UK origin. I think it is European. My copy has no mention of USA to be seen. Perhaps the long box scan would help.
