The album's first release on CD. On the day of its release UK record shop chain HMV produced a special limited edition 12" numbered CD Boxed Set including:
A badge.
A booklet of black and white photos.
Extended notes about the album.
Colour photos
This set had a catalogue number of BEA CD 25/4, and was limited to 7.000 copies.
The CD was also included in the 15 CD Boxed Set The Beatles Box.
Released in the USA in a cardboard long box with two jewel cases (with white trays), one on top of the other.
Added better disc scans to replace my originals. Images 965572 + 965573. Nod to An6y66 I've added higher res scans of the discs with no country of manufacture or rights text.
Thanks cptbeefheart but the cat#s don't match properly either, similar but not the same. I'm sure these would have come out in the mid 90's as the UK version was available here before this was released. The Digital Audio Technologies Australia stamp on the label indicates two things, one it was pressed (perhaps only the label details on blank label copies imported from the UK) in Sydney and two that it was 1992 or later as that is when this plant started operating. The other Beatles CDs I have Revolver and Abbey Road both have this stamp and are therefore definitely not from 1987 or part of that International release that I have attached them to.
I knew I left these and the Bowie series to last for a reason you've got to be like Sherlock Holmes to pin these buggers down.
The Australian CD Tray Insert says "Manufactured In" and not "Made In". The hub of both discs say EMI Swindon which would point at the disc being pressed in the UK and shipped to Australia for Manufacturing.
My images here for the Australian release are not related to this release and need to be deleted and an Australian separate entry needs to be made. I'll do one up later but I have no idea of the year of release cat# 7 46443 8 same numbers as here but it also has a CDP cat# not CDS as this release is. Discwrongs of no use in finding a release date but does have a listing. Correction sent.
I added the CD Tray Insert and 2 disc images from one of my White Albums. I thought this was an American disc until I noticed the Made In Holland on the left side text. Closest I can come to on Discogs is a European disc. Any ideas out there ??
The Australian version (not numbered) does not carry the CDS prefix to the cat# and just reads " 7 46443 8" above the barcode. The barcode and CDP#'s are however the same so it is the same release I believe.
