Hello Apollo, just to clarify the data I entered from Discogs was only the barcode as I don't have a barcode scanner and that is precisely why I'm not sure about that as I'm well aware of the accuracy problems on that site. Everything else here was entered from data on my copy and the scans here are of my actual copy of this CD. Now that I look at them though I might fix up that inner right sleeve one to match the others in height. I have learned a few things about scanning images on my journey through 45Worlds.
I still think the additional cat# of 3868022 on the sticker is enough to differentiate the releases - along with the fact that it's highly likely neither version would have appeared in both markets. Anyway, Apollo59 here we have a classic example of a CD that could be correctly classified both as international or Australian according to how we (or the MODS) interpret the guidelines. A bit of a curly one I reckon. Here's a link to a copy of Abbey Road where I have argued in favour of an international listing and lost on the strength of a slightly different cat# on a longbox. My view is that if this is international then so is that copy of Abbey Road. Conversely if that copy of Abbey Road is a US release then this is an Australian release on roughly the same grounds.
Hi Lee Wrecker: My copy cover sticker doesn't have any cat#, just the names of 4 band members and 'Ferociously exciting debut album' - Observer Music Monthly.
Other than that all cat# and barcode as seen.
I added another sub cat# which is printed on the rim of the disc, LC05834
I wouldn't rely too heavily on Discogs accuracy, nor enter discs that I didn't actually own!
Hi, Apollo59 the cover sticker here indicates an additional cat# of 3868022 (abbreviated version for ordering purposes in Australia) is that also on the EU version? In addition are the barcodes the same? I don't have a barcode scanner so I don't know if even the one I entered here is 100% as I copied that data from Discogs as it was all I could find. My feeling on this one is that there should be separate entries for EU and Australia. There are a few unwritten rules around and one is that "Made In Australia" is enough for that release to be listed as such. The site guidelines would make this international as it is listed but to my mind it's not a good fit. No drama, just saying...
