The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS 7th Mar 2016		The first three digits of the barcode are the Netherlands. MRA distributed along the same lines as Shock, some local manufacture and some import only.



Lee Wrecker 7th Mar 2016		Phil this one and the "Memphis Rock 'N' Roll"" Disky comps I have added pics to were bought at the time of release or at least both by 1994. So it looks like they're imports and most likely too as these were very early Disky releases in Australia. As you say later on it was open slather.



PhilMH SUBS 7th Mar 2016		Gone up to 1997 and still not finding this, but a labels directory in one of the catalogues says that Disky was distributed in Australia by MRA Entertainment Group (headquartered in Queensland, and reps in the other states), just one of the dozens of import distributors in the country. It looks like EMI got in on the act a little bit later, as Platterlog shows both of my rockabilly collections (1999 releases) as being distributed by EMI, and one of them is even an Australian pressing with the EMI logo appearing in the catalogue number/barcode block (the other one is a Euro pressing with no mention of EMI on the package, it's only the barcode number starting with 7243 and the "EMI UDEN" on the underside of the disc that identifies it as an EMI release). Lee, if in any doubt just enter them with their country of manufacture initially, and I'll check them if I can.



PhilMH SUBS 7th Mar 2016		Hi Lee, I've just quickly checked 1991 and 1992 Platterlogs, and no sign of this one. I think that some Disky discs were distributed here by EMI - I have some Capitol Rockabilly collections on Disky - but I would need to research further. There's always the possibility that this came out in Australia later, so I'll check that too in a bit.



Lee Wrecker 7th Mar 2016		Added a full set of scans as none were previously posted. Should "Disky" CDs be made International? Their CDs were always freely available in Australia but the finer detail on just how they were released I'm not sure on? Have any Aussie MODS or 45Worlder's got any advice on this label's distribution details in Australia?
