ReviewThis is a collection of early Barry White productions from the late 1960s. Some of the songs on here were re-recorded in the 1970s by Mr. White with Love Unlimited. The booklet that came with the CD is very informative and includes discographies of the artists featured here
Most tracks are quite obscure and only one of them, Felice Taylor's "It May Be Winter Outside", made it onto Billboard's US Charts. However stormers like Johnny Wyatt's "This Thing Called Love" and Viola Wills "I Got Love" became popular "Northern Soul" spins in the 1970s.
Strangely, the version of Felice Taylor's "I Feel Love Coming On" on this CD is very different from the version that made it into the UK Top 20 in 1967.
And for those who are wondering, Track #16, "Love Theme", is the instrumental version of "Under The Influence Of Love", rather than an early version of The Love Unlimited Orchestra hit.
