RogerFoster 29th Dec 2015		In the noughties HMV record stores in The UK would routinely hand out sampler CDs to customers who purchased certain new releases. This is one such CD, the booklet has reviews of the CDs from which the individual tracks were taken, complete with their release dates. I can't imagine that many people ever paid for these, though in retrospect they would have made fascinating time-capsules as release dates are also given for other current/upcoming releases (in this instance Dance/Urban releases for June 2002). I suspect I might have acquired this when I bought the Jazz FM CD "Inspired 2" which is listed in the booklet as having a release date of 2nd June 2002. I've put this in as a "Promo" release, though I'm not certain if that is the best categorisation. They were intended to promote the record stores as much as the artists and I don't think any other music stores ever stocked them.
