@Alenko.Um..i think something got lost in translation there (probably my fault;),but i am agreeing with you Alenko,i too personally link any albums with the same title,as you say, regardless of any track differences, but i wanted to hear from a Mod for the "official" take on this (i.e,just because i'm doing it that way doesn't mean that it's the right way;).I think maybe we could do with some guidelines here to work from, for instance,if we are to use the title as the criteria for linking releases, would that include linking CD releases which include 2 or more albums?,i think perhaps that it should?,as the album that you want to link is still in there,it's just packaged with another one (or more),also there may be the question of if another artist,or various artists use the album title and release their own versions of the tracks,do we link it?,again,i probably think we should as,at the end of the day,it all relates to the original album. It would be good to get a Mod's take on this.
Well, what is an identical album?
Same cover? Label? Catalog number? Track listing? All of the above?
We add different issues of the same album because they are not identical. Whatever the difference might be. And then we link them together so all of the different issues of the same album can be easily seen at the same page.
The site is getting bigger and it's getting harder and harder to locate all the issues of the same album, especially because many users after adding CD don't link it with already added issues of the same album. Linking releases is very helpful and convenient.
This is a bit of a grey area that perhaps the Mods could advise on ?,both of you are right,i.e,it does say "identical",but i feel this perhaps needs to be re-written to say something like "Link all albums using the same title",as clearly, every new re-release seems to add more bonus tracks, different takes etc.
It's the same album.
Different track number or different remastering doesn't mean the issues should not be connected.
Both issues (this CD and 2005 remaster with bonus tracks) are reissues of the same, 1968 release and as such should be linked
