Flower Of The Mountain was originally the title track of The Sensual World. On the original, the estate of James Joyce refused permission for Bush to use a passage from Ulysses in the lyrics. By the time of this release, they had changed their minds, and so the passage now forms the lyrics.

The Irish musicians are directed by Riverdance creator Bill Whelan. Amongst the Irish musicians are Davy Spillane on uilleann pipes and John Sheahan on fiddle.
