1984 Motown Record Corporated
I see you see my doubts... all these years I have it listed as Japan in my collector program.
Just changed it too UK on my computer. You may both be right.... this stuff makes me dizzy :-p
I respectfully disagree, MM - I think this is the US release, as it has the US catalogue number and barcode, and no mention of RCA, who were distributing Motown in the UK and Europe at that time; Discogs has a Europe copy showing the European ZD catalogue number (though it doesn't show the back insert, which would have had the RCA distribution information). Also, some US releases on other labels were pressed in Europe at that time, so it's perfectly possible that there would be some UK-pressed US issues too. And, Sharon Davis' book MOTOWN: THE HISTORY, which contains US & UK discographies compiled by UK label manager Gordon Frewin, lists the UK release as ZD 72221 in October 1984.
I've changed this to UK, as The Nimbus mastering usually indicates a press for UK.
...It is odd though, as usually, if it is a Japan for UK (or elsewhere) from this date, you'd find the disc made in Japan, inside a locally printed artwork package, not the other way around...
...Reason being that around this time, only Japan, and then Germany (West) had CD pressing plants, and only as time went on, did other countries get their own up and running.
