RogerFoster 15th Oct 2015		Review This CD was aimed fairly and squarely at the "Northern Soul" scene, and includes tracks that had been perennially popular with the dancers since the mid '70s (and in some instances since the late '60's). The Notes feature interesting observations on the "Northern Soul" scene by compiler and NS DJ Richard Searling and suggest that there were to be future compilations following in the years to come. Musically the choices cover a broad cross-section of what was being played by Mr Searling and other NS DJs but does not include any Motown recordings. Interestingly, the subsequent releases in this series "Soul Satisfaction 02", "Soul Satisfaction 3/Motown Delights", "Soul Satisfaction 4" and "Soul Satisfaction 5" were compiled by Jo Wallace and contained only releases from the Motown group of labels. 1 person found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review?
