RogerFoster 16th Feb 2016		Review This is a Japanese CD reissue of a scarce 1967 Okeh LP which was issued after the group had left and signed for Brunswick Records. The LP consisted of both sides of all 5 of their Okeh single releases from 1963-1966 (see discography at Soulfulkindamusic.net) and was no doubt released to cash in on the success of their debut single for Brunswick "I'm Gonna Miss You". The Artistics were a Chicago based vocal group who were obviously influenced by the rise of Motown (indeed the title track is a reworking of one of Marvin Gaye's recordings) and they come across on here as a perkier version of The Impressions. Their best known Okeh track would be the strident "This Heart Of Mine", which was a medium sized US R&B hit and "Bubbled Under" The Billboard Hot 100 early in 1966. 3 people found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review?
