 Hi Phil, thanks for the information but I do know that "Jesus Met The Woman At The Well" and not the "Wall" (Pink Floyd?) as I cover this song myself and also did not post this entry. Your observation on the similarities between this CD and The Uncut cover CD of 2010 reveal seven tracks to be the same. This highlights another thing about both magazines and that is that cover CDs often repeatedly throw up the same tracks particularly when it comes to old blues tracks.

 A few interesting things about this CD:

(1) It has several tracks in common with an Uncut CD from 2010, also inspired by Nick Cave.
(2) It might be a bit of a stretch to call "Jesus Met The Woman At The Well" (not "Wall", Lee!) [Edited: Mod] a murder ballad! There's no suggestion in the Biblical story of the Samaritan woman that she murdered any of her husbands (although I suppose it's possible).
(3) I suspect that that track, on the Uncut CD and this one, was taken from an Italian bootleg of the 1980's which misidentified The Pilgrim Travelers (for it is they) as The Alabama Singers!

 This would have to be the most interesting looking cover CD for years. Shame the magazine is about 1/5 of the size it was when it first came out and standards have all but disappeared. I used to buy this magazine for the articles (was a subscriber for 4 years) but now only if the CD intrigues me. Anyway, if the current rate of shrinkage in the size of the magazine continues it won't be long before Mojo disappears altogether.
