12pp (incl. paper cvrs) booklet incl.5pp notes by jeff tamarkin on the group, their two lps, "96 tears" cameo sc2004 10/66 & "action" sc2006 6/67, non-lp single cameo c496 and two previously unreleased alternate versions recorded 3/66: an outtake and a slower, bluesier version of 96 tears, that grace (or disgrace) this cd. no trace of any abkco logo on the disc, just the cameo parkway splash, but it's there in minuscule on the back insert,
in the copyright small print.
? and the mysterians were rudy martinez (perhaps ?) aka ? or question mark, bobby balderrama, guitar; fernando aguilar bass on tracks 11 & 12, else frank lugo bass; frank rodriguez organ (a thomas not a farfisa); eddie serrato, drums; tony orlando sang harmony on track 10.all tracks produced by neil bogart for pa-go-go productions (original release label for 750 copies of 96 tears),
lilly gonzales' (the group's manager's) company, save tracks 11 & 12 by rudy gonzalez, 13 & 15 by neil bogart & bob reno, 24 & 25 by bo gentry & ritchie cordell, track 24 arrangement by jimmy winner, all for pa-go-go productions. further credits for the cd reissue project listed in the booklet.
