@Lee Wrecker: Yes, it's a fine recording although for some unknown reason it omits 'I'm A Boy'. I would also point to 'Pure Rock Theatre' from `69, as also one of the best boots - at least it was until the 4th version of Tommy was released in 2013.
No, I made the decision a few years ago in 2009, to sell my bootleg vinyl (and a lot of regular vinyl that I didn't want or enjoy) as I had too much of the same thing with loads of Pink Floyd, Who, Beatles and whoever else. I copied them to CD-R. - no computer (gawd forbid!), no compression, but direct audio injection via an amplifier to a dedicated CD recorder. They were just collecting dust on the shelves as I seldom ever played them anyway. No regrets as I got very good money for them from the Japs.
I suppose in many ways The Who are one of my top 5 bands and I'll admit to being a bit of an anorak swot about their recordings in that I know that I know everything there is to know about their recordings. By that I mean the music as opposed to technical codes on CD discs that have nothing to do with the music content. Over the years I've built up a comprehensive data base that details the differences within the tracks on a multitude of releases which is fairly useful in particular to that of the 60's recordings where loads of surprising variants exist. Back in the days of fanzines, I used to contribute articles to both 'Generations' and 'Naked Eye'. I saw them not that many weeks ago here in Glasgow - I was dead centre in row 5. I had my Live at Leeds LP signed by Townshend when I first met him when he was on holiday with his family in St. Ives, Cornwall, summer `79 - but that's the beginning of a whole other story...
That's right Apollo59 and this is a reissue of the vinyl 1975 Fillmore East 68 bootleg (LP) (TMOQ 71071) which is not yet listed here. I've uploaded a mid 70's reboot but the real thing is eluding us so far. You wouldn't happen to have one would you? I'd rate this in the top 3 bootlegs I have or have ever heard. The sound is good and you can feel the atmosphere of the crowd but the band is on fire. I prefer it to Live At Leeds and that's saying something.
