Notes

Two tracks from this album Mirage / Meet Me At Midnight were released as a single on Chrysalis in 1980 in at least Australia, Canada and the USA. Some of the labels stated that the tracks were from the Chrysalis album "Eric Troyer" (CHR 1281) but the album was never released.

This CD was purchased in a paper sleeve with no further details. It is a needle drop.

Track 3 produced by Barry Blue.
Track 7 produced by Jack Douglas.

The following information was provided by Eric Troyer in April 2024 in response to questions from contributor JPGR&B:

Producer:

Jack Douglas was the first producer, then the final project was Barry Blue.

Musicians:

Eric Troyer - Keyboards.
David Brown - Guitar.
Michael Braun - Drums.
Mark Berger - Bass.
Eric Troyer and Rory Dodd - Vocals.
Other musicians - Percussion, harp, synthesiser.

Recording:

Basic tracks recorded with the Record Plant Remote Truck at Montauk, NY 1978. Over dubs at the Record Plant in NYC.

Recorded in London at Wessex Studio and Air Studios under Barry Blue.

Vocals and more overdubs at studios in Hollywood, CA, USA -  Wizard Studios, and Sunset Studios.

Album title:

The English A&R people and Terry Ellis of Chrysalis said String of Pearls was suggestive and obscene due to the English slang of a sex act… so they held up the release and asked Eric to rename the album and write some other tunes... He didn’t want to do that so there was a stand off...

Will the album eventually be officially released?

Renaissance Records in the US are interested in releasing the album along with a bunch of other unreleased songs, demos etc from the period between String of Pearls and the ELO Part II album. Eric is trying to find the original album artwork. If he finds it and finds the time to remaster the tunes he'll release it.

Coming up?

Eric is working on an album of current songs and productions.
