RogerFoster 5th Dec 2015		Review A nice collection of early/mid '60s "Soul" here from Vee-Jay and associated labels, with some tasty tracks by acts who went on to bigger things such as Gladys Knight & The Pips, Jerry Butler, Joe Simon and others from '50s stars who were attempting to keep up with the times. Most appealing for me have to be Fred Hughes "Oo Wee Baby", Jerry Butler's wistful "Good Times", Gladys Knight's "Stop And Get A Hold Of Myself" (surely the template for some of her later Motown recordings) and Little Richard's serious attempt at "Soul" with "I Don't Know What You've Got".... 3 people found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review?
