The Casbah Coffee Club became the birthplace of the greatest music phenomenon of modern times - The Beatles - on 29 August 1959.

On Saturday 28 August 1999, to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of this footnote in music history, the Casbah Coffee Club opened its doors for the first time in over thirty seven years with a special event, which allowed a capacity crowd of 2000 Beatles fans to visit the club.

This CD also celebrates that anniversary, with Pete Best and friends playing songs that appeared on the original Casbah Coffee Club juke box.

The photo on the front of the CD shows George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Ken Brown and John Lennon performing as The Quarrymen on the opening night at the Casbah.
