Judging by the results of the UK election, Mono, I think, sadly, that you must have been the only one who did

Lazyness? Not bothering? It seems there's a huge expectation by some, that all users upload in the self-imposed high standard that only a few control-oriented sticklers require. This site is a work in progress. That's the joy of it. Missing information will get filled in in time. Remember to get rid of the aforementioned expectation, and accept that some people aren't as documentation, data or detail-oriented as others, or have the time to make lengthy notes listing the gsm of the inner sleeve. Most people are just fans. Collectors.

Some of the comments I've been reading addressing the fact that there's missing information in a given entry have been increasingly cynical, slightly unpolite, and full of expectation and control issues. Why not kindly request the contributor to come forward with the information? Or send them a personal message? Why not even enter the information yourself, if it's available on the internet - isn't a job best done when you do it yourself? Don't go down that line of slagging people off via the comments function - that's just too easy.

I know some care about things being in order and correct. This comes from someone who works with Contractual, Judicial and Technical Documentation every working day (you'd be surprised how much importance is put on a correctly-placed comma, or a misplaced decimal point! - My melted plastic brain is totally fried when I get home!!!) It is important, yes, but guys - this is music and records and a cool hobby. This will be a brilliant archive and resource, don't worry. This is good stuff, ok. Just input as much as you can, and you'll be doing your bit for the good of the whole ;-)

How much work each submitter can and does put into all this stuff is none of your business to judge, as da Judge saith.
Let's not have another rateyourmusic.

I entirely agree the info (where available) should be input at the point of entry, but inevitably there will always be some where this doesn't happen - it's obviously not ideal but I don't think we need to worry too much.

thejudge: i've not suggested they should be rejected: nor am i doing so now; but as it's easier by far for the submitter to enter the composer details - where present - in the original submission, and frequently trivially so, where the great majority of albums' songs are by band members, the singer-songwriter, or by song-writers from a very limited pool or school - mightn't something like an immediate (automagic, even?) request for the submitter to fill in the missing information unless it truly isn't available to them be sensible?

(some submitters seem to specialise in not bothering to provide composers, and so creating work for others, that they could very easily do before submitting albums with the information immediately to hand - and i strongly suspect they're very well aware of this. maybe they're trying to score more points, and faster, than anyone else? might fewer points for composerless submissions encourage them to enter the info?)

What is submitted is up to the submitter. Although it would be good if people making entries could provide as much relevant info as they can, we can't really reject submissions because they're missing such as composer data (and some discs don't have the info anyway). If anyone else has the missing info, then they can submit it via the 'Add Missing Info' link down there ˅˅˅˅˅˅.

I'd agree with pp. Why are they being left off? Is it just laziness?

 - or not, and they're being created faster than they're being filled in...

There's no need to highlight these. There are probably hundreds. They'll get filled in eventually no doubt.
