Notes

Compilation of soundalike cover versions taken from numerous LPs of 1969 and 1970, on a variety of labels such as Hallmark, Music For Pleasure, Marble Arch, Deacon and so on.

All tracks feature an anonymous Elton John (Reg Dwight) on lead vocals.

Cover photo had originally appeared on the 1972 Hallmark LP, "The Happy Hammond Goes Pop" by Phil Allen.

Sleeve notes, by Tim Joseph, dated October 1994, so this must be a month or so later; and the 'Chartbusters....' version very soon after to make this so rare!

This album shows how Elton John's voice adds something extra to every somg. Great that the fans took so much effort in getting this CD released. A beauty!

Added picture of disc. Strange is that the back of the CD is 'Red Dwight's Piano' Goes Pop, but the front is 'Chartbusters. Barcode is therefore the same as this release..
Perhaps one can better put them together???

Hi TopPopper. On E-Bay this one Is £50 and there Is another for £30. Where the Chartbusters one Is around a £5er. So this Is the First and the Rarer. H.

I don't know, to be honest. I would check Ebay and Amazon to see what copies are going for. If it's not listed, then it boils down to how much you want it!

Got you. You're definitely correct. The Pipkins version didn't even appear until after the LP had been out for several months. It's definitely White Plains.

Hi TopPopper. Yes You already pointed that out In Your first comment. So I looked at the Original Album's track list and came to the Conclusion that the Version they were covering was, The White Plains one, Not the Pipkins which was part of a Medley and In The Summertime and Melting Pot are not on It. H.

Good effort but I hate to say most are probably wrong! The CD was compiled from LP releases, which of course did cover hit singles, but these versions were mainly not released on 45. They are from albums.

Track 1, for instance isn't Pipkins - it's from this covers LP.
Track 2 is from here.

If I get time, I'll go through the rest.
