London's premier eclectic electric organist Rory More and molasses-toned rising star in the firmament chanteuse Rumer (Sarah Joyce) got together in 2008 to write and record the kind of sounds and songs they've been talking about for many years. Luckily, it wasn't too long after this momentous decision that the pair encountered the Italian DJ and sharp as a track uomo di citta Alessandro Casella, at a London nightspot and hammered out a plan to get their groovy ideas committed to tape.

The oak-panelled-library brief was simplicity itself - to write and produce songs for use in film for music publisher Flipper. With such a wide open vista the result is what you're now holding in your hands - Rory and Rumer's Stereo Venus, essentially a project that plunders the duo's love of easy-on-the-ear moods and curious sonics.

For 10 marvellous months Rory and Rumer ensconced themselves in a musty, dusty room in East London's Bethnal Green Working Men's Club. Surrounded by a veritable army of organs and other glowing analogue electronics all lovingly coaxed into life, and with help from Bark Studio's Brian O'Shaughnessy, they set about creating the fabulous vibrations on this record.

Thanks to the new label - Sudden Hunger Records, what was once an exclusive Italian library recording, is now finally available for everyone to savour as a long player; the format it was always meant to be.

With Stereo Venus there's a little something for everyone, from the sultry and hypnotic incantations of scarlett, the glorious bossa lilt of Blossom's Dream, the perfectly Tijuana-styled John Sebastian's Girl to the effortlessly cool re-workings by soundtrack and uber-lounge kings the Karminsky Experience Inc and the tonality filtered modernist sensibility of DJ and producer Young Lenny.
