This lapping and dizzy compilation was compiled by Johnny Sandberg. This can be vol. 1 in a series. Tracks 21 & 22 were banned by the Swedish Radio. Small info track by track: 01: feat. LaFayette Boys. a.o. Fernice "Man" Abshire on drums & vocal. Title & lyrics borrowed from Amos Milburns licororieted repertoir. 03: A mix of english & french lyrics. Just as in the bars in Acadiana. 04: Tommy Tucker from Springfield, Ohio. 06: Orig. title was "Drinkin' wine, motherfucker, drinkin' wine". Stick was guitarplayer, singer, taxidriver, billiardsexpert, dancer, gambler, general fixer & brother to Brownie McGhee. (plays the guitar solo & shouts "mop, mop". 07: Feat. John Hart, tenor sax. Not the same song as 13. 09: From early 50s. Willis "Gatortail" Jackson was Ruth Brown's 2nd husband. Played tenor saxophone and was one of the s.c. "Honkers". 10: Nice part of the lyrics "If wine's gonna kill me, I don't mind dying". Recorded in New York, 1953. 11: Willie Dixon, bass / Ollie Crawford, guitar / Leonard "Baby Doo" Caston Sr., piano. WD won the Golden Gloves, heavy weight, 1936. 13: Describing a happy night in 1951. A lot of booze tracks arrived after that. In reality, he nearly didn't drink alcohol at all. 15: There was still no proof (1993), for Ed Kirby to be the vocalist. 16: E.S. was pianoplayer and vocalist "In The Groove Boys". He was from Osceola, Arkansas. 2 releases on Sun (not this one). 20: Recorded 1951 at Sam Phillips' at 706 Union Street, Memphis,TN. The recording was licensed to Chess, and dedicated to Jackie Brenston as the artist. (Chess 1472). 21: The Swedish version of track 11. Images
