RogerFoster 30th Mar 2016		Review Although there is no mention in the tracklisting, this Double CD contains all the tracks from Dexter Wansel's four US Philadelphia International LPs as follows ..... CD I, Tracks 1-8 - "Life On Mars", issued 1976 on Philadelphia International PZ 34079 (#44 BB R&B) CD 1, Tracks 9-13 - "Voyager", issued 1978 on Philadelphia International JZ 34985 (#37 BB R&B, #139 BB "Pop") CD 2, Tracks 1-8 - "Time Is Slipping Away", issued 1979 on Philadelphia International JZ 36024 (#58 BB R&B) CD 2, Tracks 9-17 - "What The World Is Coming To", issued 1977 on Philadelphia International PZ 34487 (#45 BB R&B, #168 BB "Pop") Dexter was a keyboard player who ended up becoming better known as a songwriter/producer/arranger and his name appears in the credits of a number of Philadelphia International recordings from the late 1970s and early 1980s. Generally his recordings were very much in an experimental Jazz/Funk style though nowadays his best known recordings are probably "The Sweetest Pain" (a Mellow/Jazzy Soul tune with vocals by Terri Wells) and "I'll Never Forget My Favourite Disco" (a rather over-blown ditty that seems to owe a lot to Sister Sledge's "He's The Greatest Dancer").
