This CD contains cover versions of hits by other artists. For example, Manuel Ríos on Santa Lucía sings a version much like that of the hit version by Miguel Ríos, and the José María on Después de tanto sounds much like José María Napoleón, the composer and singer of the hit version. José María Napoleón usually appears on albums as Napoleón, José María Napoleón, or José Ma. Napoleón, never as José María.

This CD includes an additional barcode: 617091671622 for the United States, and another "genérico" barcode: 7509979900647. The presence of a U.S. barcode is strange since, in my experience, these Mexican CDs are never available for sale in the U.S. Even going back decades to the vinyl era, Mexican albums have never been sold, except for a few rare import exceptions, in the U.S. Indeed, many of the Mexican CDs even state on the cover that sale in the U.S. is prohibited. Newer trade agreements of recent years don't seem to have changed the sealed market for music albums between the two countries. English language music is popular in Mexico, so costly albums imported from the U.S. are sometimes available.
