 Just link it to the Commercially released CD single when someone adds it, and call it a job done I'd say.

(Quite fancy this myself actually, for the non album tracks).

 Mods : To clarify,the rule-of-thumb i've been working to is this : Everything( if it's a promo),as long as it's one track short of a full album goes on CD single world.Even if it's clearly marked "Album Sampler",as long as it's one track short then for the moment it's all grouped together under CD singles,no matter how many tracks i.e from 1-11 out of 12.I have added quite a few "album samplers" to CD single world,and have just added "album sampler" to the notes.Is what i've been doing correct?

 I'd say the reason most of us are here is because we are pedantic (myself included) when it comes to music and the formats it's issued on. Also didn't notice that the tracks weren't on the album.

Having made my comments, I concede though that of the 5 tracks listed, 4 are not on the album, so can see it as an album in it's own right.

Ignore me... I'm overly pedantic this week.

 Not a problem, happy to accept it is a Promo for a forthcoming single but it is perfectly possible to release a CD mini album to promote a single but the following from the Rough Guide should apply, "If you have any disc that you can't make your mind up about then ask in the forums and see what the consensus is, let the masses decide." Or in this case the Comments section.

 Ah, OK.

But it's still a CD single :)..

the blurb on the back cover says it's a Promo for the forthcoming single: Emergency 72, from the Album: The Optimist LP.

Sorry to be a pain in the Chuzzlewit.... not trying to be awkward.

 Hi there if you have a look at this thread "What Is A CD Single - A Rough Guide" you'll see it was considered that a CD single would compose up to 4 different tracks, 5 (Not remixes) and over would be considered as a mini/CD album.
