VinnyG 14th Feb 2024		I have the UK/EU issue of the box and can confirm that it contains a 52 page booklet by Rob Bowman.



Doccus 23rd Aug 2023		I have two copies.. one came in a box with a DVD (dated 2007) and one in the 2CD jewel case (dated 2008). THe one I got in a box was used, so it's unclear if I got the full package.. I have a 2 page insert with a collage inside and credits on the rear, but no liner notes of any kind. In the credits it states "Liner notes by Rob Bowman". However there are no liner notes. I don't know if the previous owner lost them or what? The one in the jewel case has a 12 page booklet with photographs and tracks listed in the middle pages, but again. no liner notes. However, this one does NOT reference any "liner notes written by Rob Bowman".. indeed, as there are none. There's also one dated 2007 that comes in a box with no DVD.. Does anyone know if this one does come with liner notes? Did the one with DVD come with liner notes? Thanks...



RogerFoster 30th Apr 2018		It would make sense that this was issued in 2008, as the first releases on Stax (or Satellite as it was initially known) were in 1958. However this collection was advertised as being available in "Blues & Soul" 995 (9th May 2007) -- Image #1646824. The advert would relate to its UK "Release" but I can't imagine for one moment that it was officially available in The UK prior to The US, indeed the UK "Release" may have been a batch of US pressings as was happening with some other collections around that time. Discogs have the US release date as 13th March 2007, which seems very likely to me. According to an Advert in "Blues & Soul" 996 the UK issue was on 21st May 2007.
