| | Further research online reveals that Enya DID actually perform on this LP with background vocals and piano but was not credited on the sleeve as she was just performing as a guest. When she left the group it was with the Producer Nicky Ryan, who took her under his (and his wife's) wing in order to help her get her own career to take off. Which it eventually did with SPECTACULAR success. |

| | To answer and give further details. Enya or Eithne Ní Bhraonáin is the younger sister of Máire Ní Bhraonáin. She appeared on the album Fuiam with the group and then left shortly afterwards. She found fame as Enya and Máire is now called Moya (a name she already used as a shortening of Máire) or Moya Brennan (the anglicised form of Bhraonain). I know I'm repeating a bit what has already been said. |

| | Enya's gaelic real name is Eithne I believe so I don't think she's the one listed
There's a Clannad album from 1982 which does include Enya but the title escapes me |

| | "Brennan" comes from the Irish "Ó Braonáin" ("son of Braonáin"), so Leon Ó Braonáin would go into English as "Leon Brennan". The traditional name-pattern for someone's wife would be "[x] Bean Uí [y]", so it should be "Máire Bean Uí Bhraonáin" ("Máire, wife of the son of Braonáin"). I'm not sure whether it's a cock-up to name her - as here - as "Máire Bean Ní Bhraonáin" looks to me like "Máire, wife of the daughter of Braonáin", which seems a bit odd even for Dun na nGall. |

| | Sorry matey, you're asking the wrong person.
I wouldn't know enya or her relatives if she/they sat on me.
I'm not into Irish fiddly-dee music, Irish country music, Irish Folk music or whatever genre she or Clannad fall into and I can't read Irish.
But there's bound to be someone on here that can answer you, try bigtom, he's a member and Irish.
Sorry I can't help you. |
