rocket666 ● 9th Mar 2023		I have 2 disc issue from 2005 on US Water label. Disc 1 adds radio sessions & disc 2 is 'Now We Are 3' and live tracks, Superceded now I suppose by the recent 6 disc 'Following Amelia' set. Also have German 'Sister Flute' ('96) and Dutch 'Pangolins' ('03). If only my scanner worked. Anyone else want to add them please.



Apollo59 19th Aug 2017		It needn't just be a belt that goes right around the casing and is also a strip that folds over the spine similar to the type that Rykodisc supplied with Zappa releases although they were positioned at the top of the casing. The wrap-around belt type Obi's are most usually found on LP's and Laser Discs.



gregs45s SUBS ● 18th Aug 2017		@HelBic . Hi,it is a type of belt,it's the paper band that goes around mainly Japanese CD's,there's an example here (the black & white(in this case) strip that goes right around the CD)



philwill SUBS 18th Aug 2017		An obi strip is a piece of paper wrapped around the spine of Japanese CDs, DVDs, sometimes referred to as a "spine card". To quote Wikipedia: Products with an obi have become popular with some collectors, as products with the obi intact can fetch premium prices, and are collectable items in their own right. A used/second hand record or CD with a still intact obi may be worth more than the same with the obi missing. A "belt" that goes round the product, perhaps?



HelBic 18th Aug 2017		What's an obi? I ask as I used to do Jiu Jitsu and Obi was the Japanese word for belt - can't see it being that, hence seeking clarification?
