ady_lister 18th Apr 2017		CD Album Buffalo Springfield - Box Set (2013)	You're gonna have to clarify what you mean by 'far superior sound' there Apollo. Since this was just a budget, repackaged version of the box, I'd find it scarcely believable they'd have used any different mastering from the original version (which was also in HDCD).

ady_lister 18th Feb 2017		CD Album David Crosby - From The Front Row...Live (2003)	DVD Audio edition is the same release as this King Biscuit radio CD. The tracklisting is altered, shifting the acoustic opening songs to the end; presumably because they don't offer much in surround.
ady_lister 14th Feb 2017		CD Album Neil Young And Crazy Horse - Greendale (2003)	The CD booklet is printed on quite thick paper and impossible to get back in once removed hence the rips on it which necessitated the purchase of another copy which then turned out to be a USA one. I've done a janiejjones and added the rings because the USA and Euro discs are otherwise identical.

ady_lister 21st Dec 2016		CD Album Neil Young - Harvest (1984)	Lee with the greatest of respect (and if you are even still reading) I don't think the Target CDs have anything to do with the US chain Target. It simply refers to the 'Target' design used on the CD which dates them as the earliest of WEA Family CD pressings.
ady_lister 5th Nov 2016		CD Album David Crosby - Voyage (2006)	kab your copy is USA - you can tell by the FBI warning on the back. Added Euro scans, any chance mods of creating a a dupe USA entry and moving them over? I certainly don't fancy typing in 52 tracks with various artists.

ady_lister 4th Jun 2016		CD Album Free - Free Live! (2014)	They think of everything with these Japan mini LP reissues. The mini cover comes with the obi strip and a little sticker of stamps to put on. I haven't stuck them on - I just put them flat on the scanner with the cover (which is why they are wonky).
ady_lister 4th Jun 2016		CD Album Graham Nash - Earth & Sky (2001)	It was as late as 2001 for this not very well regarded album by Graham Nash to make an appearance on CD courtesy of an obscure French label. The copy here is digipack - it was also released in a jewel case.
ady_lister 23rd May 2016		CD Album Crosby, Stills And Nash - Crosby, Stills And Nash (2006)	The snippet of Crosby singing a line from Robert Johnson's 'Come On in My Kitchen' just before '49 Bye Byes' has been removed from this remaster. Presumably due to objection from the Johnson estate. Dallas Taylor's picture from inside the back door has also been removed.
ady_lister 16th Mar 2016		CD Album Graham Nash - Songs For Survivors (2002)	[YouTube Video] One of the best songs that Nash has written in 20 years. Should have got pushed hard as a single, but I'm guessing that the label didn't have the clout to get behind it.
ady_lister 16th Mar 2016		CD Album Graham Nash - Songs For Beginners (2008)	Slightly disappointing that the DVD is only 48kHz which isn't really much improved on CD quality. The main difference with this new remaster is that the drums are way higher in the mix. On 'Military Madness' the guitar outro goes on slightly longer.

ady_lister 9th Jan 2016		CD Album The Who - The Singles (2011)	Single Layer will play only on SACD players. With a running time of 93:30 this is one of those rare SACDs that uses the extra capacity of the format to squeeze the original Double Album onto one disc.
ady_lister 9th Jan 2016		CD Album The Who - My Generation Deluxe Edition (2003)	Added full scans. Single Layer SACD plays in 2.0 Stereo only on SACD players With a running time of 91:35 this is one of the few SACDs I've seen that take advantage of the format's extra storage capacity.
ady_lister 8th Jan 2016		CD Album Stephen Stills - Right By You (1985)	The back cover of the booklet is plain black. The inside features a photo of Stills from the 'Daylight Again' album and the original LP back cover photo of Stills on the powerboat is nowhere to be seen.
ady_lister 6th May 2015		CD Album Fleetwood Mac - Rumours (2001)	This DVD Audio has a number of minor annoyances: 1. The track listing is changed dumping 'Silver Springs' in the middle and 'Songbird' at the end. This is like re-arranging the plates at the Last Supper. 2. No Dolby Digital 2CH track meaning those without DVD Audio compatible players are stuck in 5.1 only. 3. The 5.1 Mix has a number of embellishments such as an extra guitar part on 'Never Going Back Again' which is jarring and incongruous. 'The Chain' has all the vocal parts in the outro messed about with...
ady_lister 4th May 2015		CD Album Neil Young - Harvest (2002)	If you have the means to play it, then the 5.1 Mix is highly recommended plus as a 'bonus' the outro of 'Words' meanders on about 30 seconds longer. Though it has to be said that the DVD Audio format initially championed by Neil has long fallen out of favour and this disc now commands in the $40-$50 range.
