ady_lister 26th May 2021		CD Album Fleet Foxes - First Collection 2006 (2018)	Yes, thats where I ended up in a quandry cos the book does present the releases by year but theres no individual track listing. I even changed my mind last minute cos I downloaded the mp3s from the Sub Pop site using the code on my vinyl copy - and thats how they are ordered. Then wikipedia and Discogs backed it up so I went that way.
ady_lister 26th May 2021		CD Album Fleet Foxes - First Collection 2006 (2018)	If it looks like I have added the tracks out of chronological sequence, it's because I have followed the track sequence of the download and wikipedia entry. 'The Fleet Foxes' EP has the artwork cropped from the original release which was only sold by the band at early gigs to remove the word 'The'.

ady_lister 7th Jan 2021		CD Album Fleetwood Mac - Rumours (2011)	'Warner Premium Sound' series marked the first time WEA label family music had been issued on SACD which was an invention of Sony and a rival format to the WEA backed DVD Audio. The 5.1 mix is the same as the DVD Audio and the track listing is moved around as per that release.
ady_lister 7th Jan 2021		CD Album Cream - Disraeli Gears (2016)	Jewel Case edition. With a running time of 82:51 this is an example of a Single Layer SACD that uses the extra capacity to put both the stereo and mono versions on a single disc.
ady_lister 7th Jan 2021		CD Album The Moody Blues - In Search Of The Lost Chord (2006)	Unlike the other Moody Blues albums from the Deluxe Edition reissue campaign this is an SACD on Disc 1 but only in 2.0 Stereo and was the only album in the series not remixed to 5.1 Multi Channel also, the SACD logo doesn't appear anywhere on the packaging.

ady_lister 7th Jan 2021		CD Album Carole King - Tapestry (2017)	Typically nice Japan SACD package though the size is same as a 7" / 45 (it's not a CD Mini LP) with 2 replica 45 Japan sleeves included and the disc itself has a round card backing to hold in place. Potentially annoying if your CD holders or shelving do not have enough clearance in height to accommodate it.

ady_lister 15th Sep 2017		CD Album Neil Young - Decade (2002)	I'd argue that this entry is a definitely a dupe of this one though I don't know which is the correct release date. The 2002 re-release I'd say was technically a re-promotion which came in an outer card slipcase. But is same artwork / barcode / cat# otherwise. Whether the slipcase makes it count as a separate release - I'll let others decide.
ady_lister 6th Sep 2017		CD Album Neil Young - Harvest (1984)	This entry is still a mess with 2 completely different releases merged together. The Target and the gold CD. I lean towards International for this (and it's not something I lean towards lightly because I don't particulary like the concept of International) Reasons: Cat#: 2277 is the USA reissue # and 44 131 is the Euro/German # so it's obviously intended for both markets. I agree with the recommendations made by greg78s below except I'd advise that the USA only Target CD release is the one that states 'Made In USA by PDO' which unfortunately we don't have on the site. Any West German Targets should be International.

ady_lister 21st Aug 2017		CD Album Neil Young - Archives Vol. 1 (1963-1972) (2009)	I can't do the Sugar Mountain sleeve / disc because I gave my copy away as I already had the CD / DVD combo that had came out earlier, so technically I've got a different copy than the one that came in the box. The filing cabinet poster is simply too long for scanning. Customer who ordered through the Warner Bros webstore got a Bonus 7" of 2 of The Squires tracks. The Blu Ray edition could connect to the web via Java and you were able to download extra content. There were some initially very cool things like the alternate 'Here We Are In The Years', the out-of-key 'Cinnamon Girl' that was missing off the 'Live At The Fillmore' and even both sides of the unreleased Mynah Birds single. However, the amount of content was nothing like what was promised and at time of writing, the servers no longer seem to be active rendering it unplayable.

I know one thing - mine keeps slipping into the cardboard void and is a pain to get out. It's an astonishing piece of work with loads of amazing pictures and handwritten lyrics but I reckon I've only had it out 3 or 4 times.

It's doing the composer credits that's the pain. Plus multi artist stuff like this where its NY , NY+CH, BS, CSNY... Scanning is still a pain though - you gotta scan, crop, edit, post in the correct order etc... You add 'em - I'll scan 'em - and as Tenacious D says: "THAT'S ******* TEAMWORK!"

ady_lister 22nd Apr 2017		CD Album Buffalo Springfield - Box Set (2013)	I'm sorry to keep bangin on last one I promise - but the point is that your initial inaccuracy about the newer version sounding better needed to be challenged. You have to appreciate that. There might have been people reading this who thought: "Wow, this Apollo says this newer version sounds better..." and done the same as you and sold their (now worth £90+) original for the (still worth £15) reissue. And yeah, that's a cheap point and sounds a bit unlikely, but it's plausible that people could have done that. My initial comment about the original being HDCD as well should have been replied with something like: "Hi ady, I was unaware/forgot about that, someone had told me otherwise." and that would have been that. Move on. No hard feelings. If Spin CDs told you - then it's their fault not yours. Instead you give me a diatribe about box set packaging, the merits of a group in the R&R HoF frequently cited as one of the most influential American bands of all time and a plethora of music formats, most of which no one except idiots like us cares about. Now we're about 10 posts down the line, probably annoyed the mods and I've lost a night's sleep scanning in loads of stuff just to prove a point. And I spend 99% of my time on Vinyl World, I only came on CD World to see if there were any CDs with no pictures I can fill in. The stupid thing is, judging from your profile, we obviously have loads in common and we'd probably have a great chinwag over a pint... offers hand

But you still then accuse me of playing a 'my Box Set's better than yours' card despite my already stating that's not the case. Funny that you mention Spin CDs since I live in Wallsend and bought the box from their shop in Newcastle’s High Bridge St in the Bigg Market. Good shop till they closed and went online where they now seem to peddle those naff artwork semi-legit Radio Station Broadcast CDs. Owners’ called Steve. Nice bloke. Good on Dylan and Grateful Dead but wrong about the original BS Box not being HDCD. Then it’s shame that your last attempt at point-scoring was seemingly made without checking my profile and additions to this site, since I own Box Set,HDCD, DTS CD, Blu-Spec CD, DVD Audio, Blu-Ray Audio and SACD and have been buying Higher Res music for nearly 20 years. Get with the programme indeed…

I had already checked that entry since I'd guessed it was the source of your (mis)information. Discogs which of course - like this site is user generated content and (like this site) prone to errors. There's about 30 Neil Young CDs on here that are listed as CD Album that I know for a fact are HDCD but if I was anal enough to submit a correction for all of them, the mods would have a lot of work. There's nothing elitist with describing this as a 'budget repackaging' in that was a: Sold cheaper than the original box and b: Has a smaller booklet than the original box. If that got this great music into more peoples hands then that's a good thing. You seem to make a disparaging point for me actually having had enough money to be able to buy the original version, which is just plain ridiculous. I have never at any point suggested you are wrong about the sounding better bit. It might sound better, hell; I don't even own this version so you might be right. I asked you for clarification, you replied about the HDCD bit. I proved that was not the case, so you then move the goalposts to a more time = advances in digital technology argument which wasn't your original point.

ady_lister 19th Apr 2017		CD Album Crosby, Stills And Nash - Live It Up (1990)	I seem to have a Columbia House copy of this so have added secondary cat# Slightly Interesting #1 This plays as CD+G with lyrics and graphics on compatible machines such as Karaoke players. Give it a spin in your DVD player and see if anything happens. Some DVD players (especially cheap ones) will play CD+G without any mention of it in their instruction books. See here for more information. Slightly interesting #2: Track 05 ends with faux vinyl crackle and a lock groove before 06 begins...

I've read 10 pages of Steve Hoffman Forums where NOBODY states that their copy is not HDCD. ...please discuss with Atlantic. The burden of proof isn't with me. I've got the original UK/Euro version and have just tried all 4 discs in my CD player and the HDCD logo lights up. Therefore that makes your initial comment that: the UK version was just standard CD a plain and simple factual inaccuracy.

Maybe there was a different batch without the HDCD encoding. This happened on this David Crosby CD which states that it's in HDCD but isn't.
