GEMSMFAN 11th May 2015		CD Album Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim - West Side Story (Original Broadway Cast) (1986)	DIDP 070257 is not a catalog number.. it is a DADC mastering code. when certain discs were pressed outside the U.S. (Japan, Germany), this number was assigned to the disc. Digital IDentification Popular. (CBS group labels Classical releases: DIDC = Digital IDentification Classical) Many of the DIDP codes (as well as DIDC codes) are also CD matrix numbers.. check your CD center rings where the number is etched). GEMSMFAN 10th Apr 2015		CD Album The Thelonious Monk Quartet - Monk's Dream (1987)	this can't be 1987... note the original Columbia "walking eye" logo on images 692559 and 692560, but on the disc (image 692561) is the later, plainer logo. this has to be a later "repressed" version. the "walking eye" logo was printed on discs also, so the original issue had this. the curious thing is when "Columbia" changed the logo. anyone know?
GEMSMFAN 8th Apr 2015		CD Album Dan Fogelberg - Phoenix (1984)	I'm curious to when the new Epic logo (line through 3 ovals) debuted. That's when this CD was probably released. It surprisingly still has the original bar code with 07464, but I'll bet the original angled up script logo was first released, as printed on the back inlay and insert back.

GEMSMFAN 1st Apr 2015		CD Album Danger Danger - Screw It (1991)	cptbeefheart: this certainly looks like "Europe", it's not from the U.S. it has BIEM / STEMRA as Rights Societies... U.S. hasn't got these unless you consider ASCAP and BMI them. The catalog number is European.. U.S. Epic used prefix "EK" followed by a 4 or 5-digit number, back when this was released. Discogs info is incorrect. CBS (Epic, etc.) pressed CD's in Austria, so it doesn't make it Austrian.
GEMSMFAN 1st Apr 2015		CD Album Various Artists - The Detroit Girl Groups (1991)	this CD contains 2 tracks by a then local Detroit girl group, The Primettes, who signed a deal with Gordy's Motown and became, The Supremes.. their male counterparts, The Primes, also went to Motown becoming The Temptations.
