GEMSMFAN 27th Aug 2016		CD Album Karen Carpenter - Karen Carpenter (1996)	Looks like an import to me... note the LC0485 (European label code) and PY900 (PolyGram distribution code) in the box on the back inlay. I see the Hollywood, CA.. but the catalog number is also foreign... PolyGram sequence U.S. A&M used "CD" letter prefix, then a 75021 number prefix on reissues of A&M CD's. I would use "Europe".. doesn't look like U.S. Karen had a great voice and died too young, unfortunately to the condition she had.
GEMSMFAN 13th Aug 2016		CD Album Stray Cats - Gonna Ball (1987)	The liner notes have a typo. Jackson Heights, N.J. (there is no such place). Stray Cats are standing in front of the Airline Diner, which is near LaGuardia Airport, in Astoria (Queens), N.Y. Supposedly, used in the movie, "Good Fellas", according to the link I supplied. The Stray Cats were from Long Island.. Massapequa, N.Y. Brian Setzer, the lead singer has had a successful solo career.

GEMSMFAN 3rd Jul 2016		CD Album Go West - Go West (1985)	Just noticed, your disc doesn't match it's case info Your disc has F2-21495 (Capitol's distribution cat. no.) vs. VK-41495 (previous CBS dist. cat. no.). I visit and buy from a used Record/CD shop in my area and one thing that really bothers me is that the shop personnel place empty jewel cases for display (for security).. ala the "Lift" System, but when to take the case to the counter to purchase a CD, you don't necesssarily get the disc that came with that case. I wonder if this is the case here?

GEMSMFAN 23rd May 2016		CD Album Various Artists - Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: Original MGM Motion Picture Soundtrack (1997)	Review A 1968 fantasy for the whole family from MGM about an inventor who takes salvaged parts and creates a flying car. This film could've easily come from Disney, as the Sherman Brothers, who wrote for many of Walt's films were used, as well as actor, Dick Van Dyke. A great film musical along with a great soundtrack presented here. Sort of like Disney meets Rodgers & Hammerstein. It is mentioned in the liner notes of this disc that the original LP track order was used where the music wasn't presented in the order sequence in which it appeared in the film, to allow it to fit on one record. 3 people found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review?

GEMSMFAN 21st May 2016		CD Album The O'Jays - Back On Top (1994)	Jasrac isn't a label, it's the Japanese rights society here: JASRAC the back of your case has a JASRAC (logo) sticker. this release is one of those early Japanese ones with an odd label. and this was released because actual copyrights expired in Japan and weren't renewed.
