gregs45s SUBS 14th Aug 2024		CD Album Lou Reed - Transformer	OK, just to make things interesting;) I've added scans of the "Special Price" release pressed by PDO, these releases had an extra outer back/front (with the zig-zag design) over the original booklet shown here, so, the inner booklet matches exactly the one shown here in images 360707/731067/068/069. Unsure of date, i can't remember the date of these "Special Price" reissues offhand. (check that, the earliest date on Discogs for this "Special Price" zig-zag series is 1986, and the latest 1993. Not to be confused with this series "Compact Disc Special Price" (with the "curl" covers) which started in 1987 The last scan of the rear tray artwork is a minor variation on the one shown in image 731070, for some reason they have changed the French retail price code from "BM 720"(BMG) to "RC 720"(RCA). (now i have two variations of this release;)
gregs45s SUBS 12th Aug 2024		CD Album Cocteau Twins - Heaven Or Las Vegas	Unsure of date, the first remaster was in 2004 manufactured by Sonopress,so, somewhere in the early 2000's i think. Remasters are always a bit of a gamble, this one sounds amazing, although that could be just due to the fact that my original 1990 copy is buried in the collection somewhere, and it's really great just to hear it again on my system after what must be a 2 year gap at least;) If i unearth the original one day, i'll compare it.

Early CD's were quite often pressed in Japan for the European and USA markets, so, here, a Japanese made Disc has been paired with the Dutch artwork. With regard to the CB number, these are the French retail price codes used in Europe (not used in the UK i don't think) at the point of sale (till) to identify which distributer to pay ,or, if not at the till individually, then presumably by bulk, i.e, 100 CB 801 albums by someone in the office of the retailer? (it would be great if someone in the Distribution business could let us know). "CB" does indeed stand for CBS i think, just as "POL" stands for Polydor. I have seen code number changes quite often and i think it's just an adminstritive thing?. gregs45s SUBS 10th Aug 2024		CD Album Coleman Hawkins, Ben Webster - Coleman Hawkins Encounters Ben Webster (1997)	Was able to compare this remaster to the stock release (823 120-2)(not saying that recording is a bad one, that AAD is a good one also), and, can confirm it's a definite upgrade, the instruments are better spaced creating an improved soundstage, and the overall clarity has been improved, highlighting details previously unheard on the original. (Recommended) 8-9/10

There are some (dodgy/humorous) (which is fairly common) tracklisting gaffs on the CD1 Disc :) The two Discs look ill matched, one is silvered, and one has a gold playside (possibly the one that's HDCD) offered "as is"
