Lee Wrecker 21st Nov 2024		CD Album Carole King - Tapestry	Hmm...same cat# (minus the space between the C and the 3) and barcode as the 1989 EU version below. 1989 would be a reasonable starting place for a date. Oh, and if anywhere on this actual product the cat# has a space between the C and 3 it's international.

Lee Wrecker 23rd Sep 2024		CD Album Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run (2005)	Hey Magic, the DVDs/CDs in this set all have a number 1-3 after the cat# and after a quick poke around the net this 82876755892 cat# was never used again. If the CD you have has a 3 at the end of the cat# (like the one above) then it was made for this set. Could someone have switched the CDs in the case between now and way back in 2005? That's my guess anyway.
Lee Wrecker 2nd Sep 2024		CD Album Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds - Kicking Against The Pricks (1992)	Hello Phil, The 1992 Bad Seeds release of Henry's Dream has Liberation on the spine. That's the only one in my collection with any label reference on the spine the others are all void like this one. I see this in the same way I see modern vinyl reissues such as those by Rhino for example. Where the cat# is a Rhino cat# but the label may be Elektra, Atlantic, Argo and a facsimile of that label is used to produce the product. All that aside the other site (you know who) lists at least some these as Liberation - Mute which to my mind is possibly the best fit.
Lee Wrecker 2nd Sep 2024		CD Album Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds - Kicking Against The Pricks (1992)	Hi Magic, these Cartel (you know 4AD, Mute, Beggars Banquet etc) produced global independent releases are tricky. The UK release of this has the usual Mute cat# pattern CD STUMM 28 this release uses a, now try to stay with me, typical Festival Records cat# D19633. In Australia Festival for most of 90's were the distributor Liberation and Mushroom records. Michael Gudinski was a founder of both labels and because of that connection the roster of artists sometimes appeared on both labels depending on when products were released then in 1999 Mushroom engulfed Liberation before amalgamating with Festival to form Festival Mushroom Records. Are you still with me? My theory is that the Festival Records cat# D19633 was designated to the Liberation Label for distribution in Australia. Therefore the label should be Liberation as it is the label producing the product and putting it in the market. It is listed on the other site both ways. As Liberation - Mute for D 30443 for the 1990 release and the reverse for this D19633 1992 release. It's messy but we can change the date of release to Aug 1992 on the strength of the links provided. The global independents of the Cartel are always difficult as they were really close to being facsimile labels before that became all the rage. I'll see if anyone chimes in with some better grasp of how to approach this and let it lie for while.

Lee Wrecker 1st Sep 2024		CD Album Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds - Murder Ballads (1996)	I have been going through the Bad Seeds Australian CDs and this one has me a bit stumped. Is the primary label Mushroom, Liberation or Mute? All three logos are prominent on the packaging. The rest of the 90s Bad Seeds Australian catalogue is usually on Liberation - Mute but this one is different. What do people think? ...and I don't mean in general.

Lee Wrecker 30th Aug 2024		CD Album The Velvet Underground And Nico - The Velvet Underground And Nico (1996)	In 2000 this CD was reissued in Argentina using the 1996 copyright. It also has the same cat#, label and barcode. In 1996 another release of this CD appeared in Israel with the same cat#, label and barcode. As PhilMH pointed out below this cat# was also listed as released in Australia and that CD would most likely have been made somewhere in the EU. So, this should be listed as international solely on the basis of two links to the Israeli and Argentinian releases provided above. I know that there is also a separate 1996 Italian release with matching data but we deal with those differently don't we? Confused? I'm not surprised.
Lee Wrecker 26th Aug 2024		CD Album Cyndi Lauper - Original Album Classics (2008)	Hmm...Phil, I see now but nevertheless both you and I know that this series is and has been widely officially available in this country and most likely many others outside the EU. Thanks for the tip on the double up I've sorted that out but it happened when I was trying to put the link in. I had three attempts before giving up. I'm not going to rush out and buy this either but I have admit Cyndi sure can sing. It's just what she sings that's not my bag. The exception to the rule is her version of Funnel Of Love but I think I like nearly every version of that song.
Lee Wrecker 26th Aug 2024		CD Album Cyndi Lauper - Original Album Classics (2008)	Hi PhilMH, this is available at the Australian version of the global superstore that is named after a river. In stock and ready to go (I tried to insert a link but it just didn't seem to want to work). How many copies do you want? The EU issue is a bugbear for those of us outside the EU with EU made products that were officially released in other countries. Do we lie and pretend it's only released in the EU or run the gauntlet of trying to have something made international. The second option is a lot more difficult to achieve so I am reluctantly forced to lie. Never mind though as long as the listings are consistent is probably the main thing.
Lee Wrecker 24th Aug 2024		CD Album Cyndi Lauper - Original Album Classics (2008)	This was released and is still available in Australia and I'd imagine a fair chunk of the rest of the world. Very much the same as the rest of the Original Album Classics series. Why is this series always listed as from the EU when from the outset this series has had worldwide distribution. Do I have to lie when entering my CDs from the series and pretend that they are imports that weren't released here?

Before you posted your comment I was checking this out and also going to suggest the year change but got a bit suspicious when I couldn't actually find a 1985 release anywhere. So I just looked up the release date and it all made sense. Then I bounced back to this page and saw your comment. Snap. Good to see you're still banging away and putting the worlds right.
Lee Wrecker 11th Aug 2024		CD Album Bangles - Different Light (1986)	I agree with gregs45s in that the CD OldMod67 has is the original release. The album, however, was released in January 1986 so if the date is amended perhaps add the month. The single of Manic Monday was released on Dec. 23rd 1985 and the album followed the next month. New year releases can be tricky.
Lee Wrecker 11th Aug 2024		CD Album Various Artists - 25 Years Of Number 1 Hits Vol. 7 1984-85 (1996)	The label here should be Connoisseur Collection and philwill is right there is no such label as Wone. The date should be removed as this is a re-release of a CD from 1996 that had the cat# WONE CD 07 which Magic referred to below. This is in fact on Discogs with a different cat# XONE CD 07 and a full set of scans. So, you could change the label, cat# and remove the date safely unless the owner has an original CD in a reissue case which would account for the cat# mix up. As it is though the data here is suspect and needs to be either corrected (see link) or removed pending evidence confirming the cat#, label and release date. What do people think? Should I send a correction? The original 1996 release seems to have been released with the same cat# etc. in Europe and the UK. However, they have different artwork but that's not enough to separate them is it?
Lee Wrecker 5th Apr 2024		CD Album The Rolling Stones - Live On Air 1963 To 1972 (2023)	Thanks for tidying up the listings on this label leonard. Unfortunately there's a lot of this sort thing getting about these days with artists radio broadcasts and TV appearances surfacing as albums. While some are legitimate a lot (or most) are not and just unscrupulous cash ins. Bootlegs, which began as unreleased tracks or live recordings (of various quality) for super fans, never really masqueraded as legitimate or official releases they were more like shiny trinkets for those obsessed by an artist. This current trend to dress up old radio broadcasts in period photos and invent period sounding labels to make out of copyright material look official gives bootleggers a bad name. Now that's saying something!

Discogs does not allow anything on this label to be sold on their site and that should be proof enough that these are not legitimate releases by the artists concerned.

Your question really goes to issue of whether the CDs are versions of the same release and it can be difficult. If it is this CD then I'd say yes because it is a repress of this issue. If that's not the CD then as long as the label Polydor is mentioned on the packaging or CD, cat# is the same and bar code matches it also is technically the same thing on the site. If either of those options fit your CD you can confidently own this slightly different one without having to enter your CD separately. It would be great though if you could scan your disc to add it to this entry as an alternate pressing if you think it belongs here. Hope this helps in some way.

Lee Wrecker 23rd Jun 2023		CD Album The Velvet Underground - Loaded	It's weakness is it's strength Magic! Did I just say that? It's hard to look at the Velvets in hindsight as their reputation and esteem is monumental these days. However, this album was the end of the road for the band and Lou Reed apparently didn't even hang around to mix it. So to some extent you're right Magic the band was on it's last legs and this attempt at commercial success - the title "Loaded" was intended to mean loaded with hits - but the album went nowhere. Yes, it sounds like a MOR version of the band but it still has back to back all time classics in "Sweet Jane" and "Rock 'n' Roll" and cheesy fillers like "Lonesome Cowboy Bill" are at least amusing. You might want to look up Steve Sesnick to see how much influence he might have had on what your ears have witnessed.

Lee Wrecker 22nd Dec 2022		CD Album Creedence Clearwater Revival - At The Royal Albert Hall April 14, 1970 (2022)	Have a look here and you'll find the cat# entered here is for the CD release and the barcode will be 888072406605. Have a look here and you'll find the that the red vinyl version is also international. As are all the vinyl colour variants. The 2LP, 2CD, Blu-ray etc box set edition has a different name "Travelin’ Band: Creedence Clearwater Revival At The Royal Albert Hall" to what has been entered here and a the cat# CR00507 as is mentioned on that image. That may well be a USA only release but that is not what is entered here, what is entered are the details for the regular CD release which is as it turns out is international. What we have on this page are two releases the CD and the Box Set with neither quite right.

So yes it is international I'm afraid. I was wondering who'd be disappointed the EU or USA contributors but it must be said that we usually get EU releases here in Australia so it's a little unusual in that regard.

Lee Wrecker 6th Dec 2022		CD Album The Beatles - The Radio Vaults (2015)	Maybe because it is a bootleg. Now, explain to me the difference between an unofficial release and bootleg because obviously I don't get it and multiple dictionaries don't help. They are all some form of release that was not part of an artist's regular catalogue that was released without their or their label at the time's consent. It really is quite simple. It has nothing to do with where it was bought or how the shop acquired it, it's all all about the whether the artist or label sanctioned it. If not on either score it's a bootleg or unofficial release but they are the essentially the same thing. It doesn't have to be an audience tape, studio outtake, radio performance or any other type of thing it just has to be not released by the artist or label. Now prove me wrong or re-classify this as a bootleg. I'd be interested to know why you don't think this is a bootleg other than just looking at it, knowing the Beatles discography, label and source of the the recordings. Furthermore it doesn't take a lot of research to find out everything on Anglo Atlantic and their parent company Coda Music Publishing is a bootleg or unofficial release but here on 45 Worlds they are the same thing just like in the dictionary. Correction sent. I usually provide links in my comments to back all of this up but why don't you back up your listing with some evidence that this an official release. Get searching or re-classify and don't mess us about with absolute bollocks.
