CD Album
Karel Brazda And (Mitglieder Der/des Members Of) Philharmonia Slavonia - Brandenburgische Konzerte 1-6 • Brandenburg Concertos 1-6
i am not sure the german titles of each individual konzert should be described as "brandenburgisches", which looks plural to this ppint. - but this, too, is "sic" (& "stet!")

Clara Matec, Stephan Nagy, Dragutin Hrdjok And Solisti Di Zagreb - B. Bartok: 15 Ungarische Bauernlieder U.a. / Béla Bartok: Tänze, Lieder, Stücke Für Kinder / Dances, Songs, Pieces For Children (1992)
- hmmm... evilamazon attribute this series to old friends, "digital sound" - makes sense, given the front inserts' "digital-classic" under the apparent label name, "vienna masters series", and the form of the cat#; but "digital sound" nor "digital-classic" appear to the viewer of the disc...

- yr hmbl srppint leaves this problem to a suitable semi-divine being - is klepsie about? :grin:

i do not know why "allegro barbarco" is not included in the cd title, but it isn't.
(i also s'spect it of being one or more mistranslations and/or tyops. . .)

Various Artists - Mojo Presents My Generation (2015)
despite the cover date, the date of publication, and therefore of the release of the cd, is a month earlier - i.e. the august 2015 issue of the magazine is on-sale throughout the month of july 2015, and so the month of release of this cd is july 2015.

N. Kennedy, B. Greevy, R. Cohen, N. Del Mar &, V. Handley And London Philharmonic Orch, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orch, O A Hughes And Hallé Orch, R. Hickox And Northern Sinfonia - Favourite Elgar (1993)
a pretty good intro-to-elgar sampler, and a great in-car cd; but it's too frustrating, for me, to not have the full pieces to sit down & listen to. . . come xmyth, i'll likely give this to a young friend. . .

Various Artists - Hits Of The Sixties Volume One (1989)
caveat emptor: watch out on all tring "product" - and any other sub-labels, & other labels emnating from ails^W tring - for cheap, non-original versions of what're headlined as the hits, on cds & tapes that often - usually? - 're not by the original line-up.

(live in-concert recordings, whether by the original bands, & whether by the line-ups of the bands as're the same as those that had the hits, are another matter, and may well be worth your while - and the purchase price! :smile: - so long as it's clear that's what we're getting.)

Bill Wyman - Back To Basics (2015)
caught the interviewlet he did at glastonbury with jo wiley (sp?) on tv, with a clip or two: it sounds good - and so did he. i must keep an eye open for this.

CD Album
Various Artists - That's Doowop (1991)
and there's a fair few there that aren't anyway doo-wop; not a bad "random radio" selection from the fifties & sixties - depending on whether they're the original, or inferior re-, recordings - but an album of doo-wop, it ain't.

CD Album
Various Artists - The Best Of Buddah (1990)
buddah/kama sutra really was a split-personality operation, wasn't it - inspired singer-songwriter-driven folk groups; sublime "brill building"(& -style) commercial pop by stylish, sometimes manufactured, girl groups; "progressive" (fcvotw ;-) ); stone soul - and bubblegum.

i know manglements change over time, and some keep their finger on the pulse pretty well, and some manage to move with changes in public taste, whatever their private preferences - "but. . ."

T. Rex - Loony As August On A Drunken Baboon
no cat#, no bar-code nor 12-13(+)-digit id no; declared label looks deliberately close to "capitol" - is this "a bootleg bolan" ?

(- and the contact address for capital records's given as via exile, monte carlo - maybe germany's wrong, too?)

Uriah Heep - You Can't Keep A Good Band Down (2002)
nicoldo64: does no part of the outside of the box bear a bar-code & no. ~505015915272(n) (where "n" = a digit from 0-9 or X) ?

- or any other twelve-thirteen digit no. including "...5272(n)" ?

- or any sticky label attached to the outside of the original shrink-wrapping?

CD Album
Crowded House - Recurring Dream (1996)
manic marmalade: there was certainly a time (or two?) in the seventies (& eighties?) when a couple of uk music chains desperate to stay afloat imported a container-load or several of both remaindered, and "instant remainder" cassettes from italy; and a lot of the latter looked distinctly dodgy - crappily-printed labels glued & aligned erratically, in shoddily-mfd cassette cases - no "snap" to their excessively-loose closure, so they fell open on the slightest touch, disgorging their cassettes all everywhichway, and poorly- (& cheaply-) printed card inserts - typeset in standard printer's fonts, in black upon a one-sided, one-colour ground, t'other side in black-on-white - or left blank - with no statement(s) of the recordings' sources, prior publication dates, copyright dates, song publication dates, publishers, nor even their writers...

- these may have been exploiting a real loophole in international copyright (etc.) law; but i always assumed that their producers were organised (at least semi-organised !-) ) criminals, and the cassettes either the products of complete copyright piracy, or perhaps infringing the rights of mostly merkin music megafauna, too tardy to take notice in time to tackle the things - the way it's popularly posited apatosaurus (?sp? - diplodocus redesignated) took ten minutes to perceive his/her skin had been punctured.

- and cds are so much cheaper to produce, than cassettes - you can afford to print up a good pirate photocopied front insert, even if it's only one thickness of light card, or paper...

CD Album
Van Morrison - The 1967 New York Sessions (2001)
camshaft: yes, i get caught by the medion 7" tablettything's auto-mis-correct bu^W "feature" too, from time to time - and, even more annoyingly, by its auto-mis-correct-after-you've-left-a-completed-word "feature"...

- re tracks 5 & 16 composers-of-record (npi), true composers, etc: bert berns owned bang! (and shout) records, but owed the bank(s) - and some new york bankers were worse than "a right wunch", not too careful about leaving debtors' limbs intact after applying the persuasion. . .
so it's not surprising that he, and others in similar states, strayed over the line of the strictly legal; but adding your own name (and sometimes others', and sometimes pseudonyms of yours) has a long, disreputable history in the music business.

- i don't know whether berns sometimes/hardly ever/never contributed to the compositions and/or their arrangements as recorded for his companies to release: he certainly had sometimes invaluable input in the recording studio on the production side, tightening up the tracks to increase their commercial appeal, as he saw it - not always what van morrison actually wanted, on particular tracks he was laying down - and he certainly affixed his name as (co-)composer to some songs he'd had naught to do with. but what goes onto the published composition gives co-composers - even fictional or fictitious ones - a share of publishing royalties, and "accidental errors" can take decades to sort out (if they ever are), and frequently the involvement of m'learned - and sometimes very expensive - friends, with very thin watches. . .

CD Album
Van Morrison - The 1967 New York Sessions (2001)
the title of track 17 is almost certainly "I love you (the smile you smile)", not "i looked you (...)";
the composer credit for track 16 "should" read "bert berns, van morrison" - definitely not "beerns";
the composer credit of track 8 should be "traditional, arranged bert berns" or some accepted abbreviation(s) thereof, and definitely not "trade";
the composer credit for track 5 should be "bert berns, wes farrell", and definitely not "sarrell".
