ppint. 16th Nov 2017		CD Album Dusty Springfield - Complete A And B Sides 1963-1970 (2006)	distributed with reversed-out dark blue on white oblong peelable label in lower lh front corner of crystal case declaring: eclipse / two cd set / 41 original recordings / compiled by saint etienne / a collector's delight 0-06024-983528-9 (& the old eclipse logo from the latter days of decca's independent existence as one of the majors). since the double cd's declared to be a mercury records ltd. release (as well as being eclipse archive series: from the universal vaults) anyway - they could at least've resurrect the semblance of the philips group wing label for this excellent compilation . . . (small *grump* . . .)
ppint. 16th Nov 2017		CD Album k.d. lang - Ingénue (1992)	background colour of the cd just picked up by yr hmbl srppnt. for 33⅓p° is khaki, which could be a real difference, or just scan colour balance. (fwiw, matrix-equivalent: 759926840-2.2 WME) ° - oddly a little bit satisfying, that :-)

Telemann (2012)	mezzo soprano: jane irwin viola: david a spin no catalogue number on disc matrix-equivalent: EDC Blackburn Ltd RAPID/098 yr hmbl srppnt. has this cd, but lacks the sleeve, printed inlay or cover.

ppint. 6th Oct 2017		CD Album Various Artists - Tamla Motown Big Hits & Hard To Find Classics 3 (2000)	philwill: this compilation (p) & © 2000 spectrum music, and the logoes on both the disc and the printed inserts are spectrum & universal, and that's a spectrum cat# - i'd say you are right, or the two (spectrum / universal & spectrum) should be combined into the one spectrum listing - prob'ly better & easier, as lots on the spectrum list are actually spectrum / universal cds. (can this be made to happen automagically for future additions?)
ppint. 6th Oct 2017		CD Album Neil Young With Crazy Horse - Zuma (1993)	how is this different from the cd here ? the matrix-equivalent number strings of the two appear to be identical, as do both the printed inlays, so far as yr hmbl. srppnt. can see, and neither disc nor package bears a date - unless the last piece of the matrix-equivalent string, 03/00, is the date of manufacture.

ppint. 19th Sep 2017		CD Album Agnetha Fältskog - Wrap Your Arms Around Me	biem/stemra collection agencies, and a date no earlier than 1983 strongly suggests (made in germany) for the yeurppean market generally (and possibly for distribution further afield by polygram).
ppint. 19th Sep 2017		CD Album Various Artists - The Best Of The Secret Policeman's Ball • Part 2	though part 1 was definitely distributed with the grauniad, on a saturday, and part 2 equally definitely distributed with the observer, on the following sunday, both parts' discs and printed card sleeves as assuredly bear - with equal weighting - the legend, "theguardian theObserver ¥Amnesty International" (where ¥ = amnesty's barbed wire-bound lit candle logo), and are cat#ed in the reverse order to that which one unfamiliar with the grauniad though the (sicksties,) softenties and the eigerties mitred auntipated. . .

(thanks to anonymous semi-divine being for speedy unbreaking of SECTIONBREAK - but what *did* i do wrong, that made it not work?)

ppint. 11th Sep 2017		CD Album Planxty - Between The Jigs And The Reels: A Retrospective (2016)	track 4 sets the poem by patrick joseph mccall (1861-1919), published in his "songs of erinn" (1899) to the air or melody reputedly played as a "marching song of feagh macchugh" by his pipers in 1580; so it really should have credited mccall - but doesn't. the arrangement is by moore, o'flynn, irvine & lunny, and the performance is a superb "rabble-rousing" - or should that be "rebel-rousing" - anti-english call to arms: "rooster of a fighting stock, would you let a saxon cock/cry out upon an irish rock - fly up and teach him manners!". (fiach mac hugh o'byrne°'s rebellion, at first successful, was rapidly and somewhat bloodily crushed - as was normal for the times upon both sides, and remained so for all too long: but it's still a superb rousing call to arms, "for a' that".) (° - spell him as you will)
