ppint. 31st May 2023		CD Album Canadian Brass - The Essential Canadian Brass	the three pieces from ''the well-tempered clavier'', entitled collectively 'the well-tampered bach'', were evidently arranged for canadian brass by someone, but they're credited nor on the rear insert, nor in the 16pp. front insert booklet, which includes 2 x 5pp. ''liner notes'' by roger ruggeri in both english and (presumédly canadian-) french (traduction: les beaux écrits). ''the flight of the tuba bee'' (''le vol du tuba-bourdon'') is howard cable's re-arrangement of ''the flight of the bumblebee'' (''le vol du bourdon'') from ''the tale of tsar saltan'' (''tzar saltan''); and ''die dreigroschenoper'' is ''the three-penny opera'' in english, ''l'opéra de quat'sous'' en français, both of which are stated in roger ruggeri's notes.
ppint. 31st May 2023		CD Album Canadian Brass - The Essential Canadian Brass	the apparent second SECTIONBREAK title is actually the title of track 05; and: there should be another untitled SECTIONBREAK just before the title of track 20, after tracks 17, 18 & 19, which are collectively ''the well-tampered Bach''; both these corrections duly submitted. +12 hrs edit: mostly now dealt with; only the phantom green canzone section title remains to be deleted. thank-you, o semi-divine being involved in this. -----------------+ (the instructions for use of SECTIONBREAK say how to start using it ok, now; but they're not very explicit on how to end using it to achieve the desired effect. . .) (and if one - e.g. yr hmbl srppnt. - doesn't use SECTIONBREAK often, it's entirely possible - - to have discovered - some of - the unsaid bits of how it works - - used it happily, eventually - for a while - - and then to've forgotten some, many or all of the finer details of SECTIONBREAK's secrets...)

ppint. 21st Mar 2023		CD Album Various Artists - Dreamboats & Petticoats Presents Dusty Springfield / Sandie Shaw / Lulu (2022)	all three discs and the card back state (p) and © spectrum music, a division of universal music operations ltd. umc is nowhere expanded, but pretty evidently the ''um'' bit stands for ''universal music''; so, unless umc is actually a label of spectrum music, which none of them state, it looks as though ''spectrum music'' is right - and the ''umc'' logo is comparable with the ''emi'' logo long on all the separate emi group uk labels of yore like columbia, parlophone, stateside, etc. - branding to remind people they're all parts of the larger group; indeed, ''dreamboats & petticoats'' is closer to being a label, than is ''umc''.
ppint. 17th Mar 2023		CD Album The Temptations - My Girl (2001)	hi philmh yes, i don't know that this twenty-first century spectrum music cd was distributed by universal / any other part of the music industry anywhere outside of the uk, nor that spectrum music uk had obtained eu-wide rights to do so; but that is quite separate from the eu inhabitant's right in any of the eu countries other than those with a temporary derogation to order it - if it is legally published in any eu country, which it was; and possibly of any and all eu wholesalers outside the yuk-of-gb-&-ni to order and distribute it also: the legal right to do so may transcend the limitation upon the commercial licences granted; this would in principle (and eventually) be fightable up to the eu supreme court by anyone with deep enough pockets (and suitably insane - ?), and possibly result in the eu law being emended. eventually. as to the date of this spectrum music uk cd, i do not believe that it could be earlier than the © 2001 date of its packaging and of its disc unless the disc were old stock, overprinted and repackaged - and yr hmbl srppnt. does not know this to be the case, and it appears not to be; disc states © 2001 spectrum music. this compilation was licensed to spectrum music by motown record company l.p. (los angeles) in 2001.
ppint. 16th Mar 2023		CD Album The Temptations - My Girl (2001)	bears spectrum music, universal music, and tamla motown logos on both inserts and on the cd; the last logo is presumably quoted as a historic reminder, rather than indicating a revival of the label. front insert ''cover art'' is of the five temptations, two seated with one standing, one seated a level up behind the two seated lower, with the last standing next to him. this cd will have been legally distributable anywhere in the eu aside of to countries with a temporary derogation from the applicable eu law until some time after the yuk-of-gb-&-ni left the eu - if it was still on the spectrum music uk catalogue by then: but i do not know if any copies were so distributed by spectrum music uk - or by anyone acting for them.

ppint. 7th Mar 2023		CD Album Nina Simone - Legends (1994)	discogs has the additional information: licensed from musicrent inc. and below this, licensed from hho ltd. there is no indication whence this information was obtained. the official ninasimone website either does not list, or has deliberately/accidentally fairly-well hidden any listings of cds of her music; and the various more-or-less official websites selling cds don't seem to be very bothered about the legality nor the ultimate origin of the tracks on compilations, generally. i cannot tell from what i've been able to find - which is very little indeed - when these tracks were recorded, nor for which music corpse, nor whether these tracks were obtained legally, nor by whom.
