Strange Changes 19th Jan 2020		CD Album Mia Martini - Mia (1990)	"Sabato" is the Italian version of "Dancing on a Saturday Night" co-written by Barry Blue and Lynsey de Paul but Lynsey is omitted from the credits, even though the arrangement of this version is very close to that of Lynsey's on her "Taste Me... Don't Waste Me" album. Presumably, they wrongly assumed that Lynsey wrote the English lyrics whereas Barry and Lynsey wrote music and lyrics together.

Strange Changes 10th Dec 2018		CD Album Dana - All Kinds Of Everything (1990)	Dana performed the Lynsey de Paul (Rubin) / Barry Blue (Green) penned "Crossword Puzzle" on the 22nd June 1972 edition "Top of the Pops". It It peaked at #2 for 2 weeks (2nd and 9th September 1972) on the Bangkok Radio HSA charts. Lynsey's version is on her debut 1973 album "Surprise"

Strange Changes 10th Dec 2018		CD Album The Spencer Davis Group - With Their New Face On / The Masters (1999)	"Today Gluggo, Tomorrow The World" is credited here to Eddie Hardin, Pete York but on the vinyl album it is credited to "P. York" and "L. Rubin", the latter being either Lynsey Rubin (Lynsey de Paul) or Lionel Rubin.
Strange Changes 10th Dec 2018		CD Album Spencer Davis Group - Gluggo (2004)	Lynsey de Paul (aka Rubin) is thought to be the co-writer of "Today Gluggo, Tomorrow The World". Other sources however credit Lionel Rubin, a brass player who had a music shop in Birmingham, as the co-writer.

Strange Changes 28th Nov 2018		CD Album Buddha Monk - The Prophecy (1998)	"Dedicated" is based on the song "All I Am" recorded by US/UK soul group Heatwave, written by Lynsey De Paul and Susan Sheridan.
Strange Changes 28th Nov 2018		CD Album Guru - Jazzmatazz Streetsoul (2000)	The track "Certified" samples Klaus Wunderlich's instrumental version of the Lynsey de Paul classic "Sugar Me" that she co-wrote with Barry Green (aka Blue).
Strange Changes 28th Nov 2018		CD Album Marlene - Looking For Love (1984)	Marlene has an interesting voice and the album is quite varied due to the use of different songwriters. Stand out track for me is "A Little T.L.C." written by Lynsey de Paul and Terry Britten. The song has also been recorded by boy band Menudo, as well as by TV band Kidd Video and Hong Kong singer Sam Hui.
Strange Changes 28th Nov 2018		CD Album Nancy Sinatra - Nancy Sinatra (1998)	Great version of "Sugar Me", originally performed by the songs co-writer, Lynsey de Paul. Nancy's version was released as a single on the RCA label in 1973 and bubbled under the US charts.

Strange Changes 28th Nov 2018		CD Album Bruce Johnston - Going Public (1991)	Of course this album stands out for featuring "I Write The Songs" which was written by him (and not Barry Manilow, who had a hit with his version of the song). More unusual is Bruce's take on the Lynsey de Paul Ivor Novello Award winning "Won't Somebody Dance With Me" which is presented from the view of his daughter and features female vocals.

Strange Changes 27th Nov 2018		CD Album Smoove And Turrell - Antique Soul (2009)	According to Smoove & Turrell's website, "You Don’t Know" is a beautiful song with a driving beat. Like the best soul records the music is uplifting while the subject matter is melancholy. In a word – it’s a classic. It samples "Water", a track from Lynsey De Paul's debut album "Surprise" released in 1973. Normally such a sample would be a big issue for a band without a big label or a heavyweight lawyer but not so in this case. When Lynsey heard the record she loved how they had used her music and intervened directly with her record company and publishers to make sure the deal happened.
Strange Changes 27th Nov 2018		CD Album Various Artists - Warner/Chappell Presents: Olympic Tracks (2012)	This is the first time "There's No Place Like London" by Shirley Bassey (Producer – Lynsey De Paul, written by Lynsey de Paul and Gerard Kenny) has been released on CD - previously it was only available as a single on Towerbell Records.

Strange Changes 26th Nov 2018		CD Album Vera Lynn - Singles Collection (2007)	"Don't You Remember" (track 2-12) was written by Lynsey de Paul and Barry Blue especially for Vera. Lynsey provided backing vocals and Ringo Starr was drafted in to play the tambourine. De Paul produced the song as well as the B-side "That Old Feeling" (track 2-13).
Strange Changes 26th Nov 2018		CD Album Tony Blackburn - The Singles Collection 1965-1980 (2012)	"So Much Love" and "It's Only Love", made the UK Top 40 in 1968 and 1969 respectively. His version of Doris Troy's "I'll Do Anything" originally recorded in 1969 for his second album, Tony Blackburn on the Polydor label; was re-released as a Northern soul single under the pseudonym Lenny Gamble on Casino Classics in June 1978. "Chop Chop" written by Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman was a radio hit. "House of Cards" written by Lynsey de Paul (credited as Rubin) and Barry Green (who would go on to become Barry Blue) was released as a single under the alias "Heart", however it was included under his own name on his self-titled 1972 album for RCA records.

Strange Changes 26th Jul 2017		CD Album Lynsey De Paul - Greatest Hits (1994)	This was the first release of some of Lynsey's biggest hits and most famous songs released on CD. Tracks 1-11 cover her hits on the MAM, Jet and Polydor label (although curiously, her one hit on the Warner Bros label "Ooh I Do" is missing). Tracks 12-20 are all the B-sides to her MAM singles plus 5 tracks from "Surprise" her debut album on MAM ("Rockadile", plus the excellent tracks "Just Visiting", "The Way It Goes", "Sleeping Blue Nights" and "Water"). The last track is a true rarity - the German language version of "Rock Bottom". All in all, an excellent collection, though for better sound quality as well as completeness the later releases "Sugar and Beyond" and "Into My Music" are a better buy.
